13/6/2006 08:36 | maybe a german world cup win will boost the share price! | hugepants
13/6/2006 08:35 | yea. MBO or liquidate and distribute the cash now. | cg1953
12/6/2006 16:32 | My price expectations are at a 3 year low!!! I wish they´d do something to release the value here | arthur_lame_stocks
08/6/2006 09:34 | The World Cup is forecast to increase the GDP of the Hun economy by 0.5%. Should be good for Hemmers! | hugepants
19/5/2006 07:57 | Hopefully at least these buy backs will give the shares a solid floor from which to build. GT | goonertone
15/5/2006 23:57 | "Neil Irving" are you there? You kindly helped with your views on Probus Plc in 2002 and your negative advice was of course completely correct. At that time you were interested in possible multibaggers and I have one now which may be worth considering. This is Original Investments PLC (OIP.L). The Chairman is Jim Slater and OIP has just done a deal with Cisco Systems, which could result in OIP itself becoming a major player in a new field or at least substantially interested in such a major player. I would be most grateful (and I think it would be of interest to you) for you to have a look at OIP and let us know what you think of it on the bulletin boards for OIP on iii and or ADVFN | itsnobigdeal
15/5/2006 15:04 | A good summary of LDSG here; | hugepants
15/5/2006 11:57 | Bill Cran was one of the problems at least he resigned when he knew he had made a mess of it. We now have a better board and I am sure that any aquesition will add value to the share price. | poacher45
14/5/2006 20:31 | poacher. your contribution to this thread has been valuable and substantial. however,i just cant fathom your reasoning on why this time it will be different! what have i missed ? with bill cran i thought we were on the right road; and for a while we were. | cg1953
12/5/2006 17:01 | cg1953 You have just become too pessimistic. I increased my holding last year and this year. They are going to take over a company. It will be a good move and we now have a proper board who know a good company when they see one. We will then make more money than if the cash had been handed out. | poacher45
12/5/2006 16:13 | o come all ye faithfull and prepare to be disappointed !!! if there was so much potential as most of the comments here allude too; then the company would have been bought out before now. i just know they are going to make a 'wrong' acquisition. | cg1953
12/5/2006 11:15 | goonertone I´ve got no complaints really, over the last 3 years i´ve traded Leeds profitably and i´m sitting on a decent paper gain at the moment too. But I believe like most of the shareholders here that the real value is some way north of 30p a share and that this could easily be achieved by selling Hemmers and returning the cash to us. I´d just like to make an exit now and move on, I have a few investments that i´d like to buy into when this cash is free. I have a feeling they´re sitting on the cash just so that they can keeping buying in the stock cheaply so that when they do eventually sell up their profit will be all the bigger. | arthur_lame_stocks
12/5/2006 10:34 | Gyllenhammar on board = 30% discount in share price IMO! | kiwi2007
11/5/2006 10:46 | I fear that the price is going to keep drifting unless we´re lucky enough to get tipped somewhere. I worry a bit about what they´re going to spend that cash on. Hopefully it´ll be something complementary to Hemmers and not just bunged into one of Gyllenhammars dogs. Even better would be to sell Hemmers IMO. | arthur_lame_stocks
11/5/2006 09:22 | From memory, Arthur, I think it clearly states in the report and accounts that Hemmers debt is unsecured and without recourse to the parent. Gooner, Thank you for posting your thoughts/observation | langland
11/5/2006 09:17 | jhan66 I was ignoring the central costs and adding back the interest to give a debt free/cash free figure for Hemmers underlying performance. Gooner My understanding of the tax rate is that it is 40% in Germany and that this is what they pay. Also worth noting that Hemmers debts are unsecured so presumably in the event that it went broke (which clearly it isn´t) the group which holds all of the 5m cash would not be liable for their debts. This at least is my understanding of it although you might like to satisfy yourself on both points by contacting the company. | arthur_lame_stocks
11/5/2006 09:09 | Thanks. Hope your right of course, but even if you miss it they're still undervalued now that exceptionals are gone | jhan66
11/5/2006 08:53 | Jhan66 My notes are at home but from memory I had H2 increasing significantly due in part to record order books, continuing expansion of markets and a tendency though not proven via track record to have slightly better H2. Analysis is hindered by Leeds putting different formats, analysis and breakdowns for interims and finals. In 04 hemmers profit was £1041 before central costs, in 05 it was £941 before exceptionals and central costs due to a week H1. If H1 it had matched previous year it would have been £1241. Therefore if H2 is at record levels then we should expect to see £1.4 to £1.5 for the whole year and with Leeds now completley out of the way the H2 central office costs should be equal or lower than H1 ie £250 to £300 for year. Therefore pre tax of £1.1 to 1.2 ish million. As with all these things we are all guessing at future figures based on what we can glean from reports, news etc. This is only my take and it does have a lot of room for H2 to be below my estimates. It all depends on how you read the write ups regarding expansion of markets and record order books etc. I'm going for the glass half full approch but thats just me, always willing to believe until the undeniable facts are stuck in my face. 11/5/2006 08:11 | Goonertone/Arthur, Can't find your profit levels. I can see Hemmers made £612K & will hopefully increase this. Take away £147K central costs and were back down to £465k before tax. | jhan66 |
