17/6/2005 16:32 | So that's the buyback over then is it? | arthur_lame_stocks
11/6/2005 02:22 | Perhaps just not for cancellation yet? | stewjames
10/6/2005 21:13 | Not for cancellation though. I wonder what they plan to do with them. | arthur_lame_stocks
10/6/2005 17:44 | Yep. 250K shares bought back at 13.5p. I wish my broker was as good as theirs! Mind you, I couldn't afford 250K shares! LOL! | stewjames
10/6/2005 14:26 | Some volume today, perhaps this is it. | arthur_lame_stocks
09/6/2005 11:15 | It was too much to hope for. | arthur_lame_stocks
08/6/2005 10:07 | A slight tick up today. Could this be the start of the buyback. Maybe too much to hope for. | arthur_lame_stocks
30/5/2005 11:13 | forgive my cynicsm.my patience has long since been tested and broken by this counter. 1] why bother to even state in the interim results what we allready know from the agm "that they have an authority to buy in there own shares". DONT STATE IT AGAIN. JUST DO IT.then tell us.i mean, why blatantly advertise your intentions ? or were/are they expecting the share price to decline further ? 2]imo directors buying would herald a much better market sentiment to all participants !!! there absence, the reverse. | cg1953
29/5/2005 12:30 | cg1953 I don't think there's much danger of the Swedes selling their shares to the company at this level, after all their average is probably a lot higher and they could also presumably get much more than 13p if the group was broken up and sold seperately. I don't see why Leeds can't just buy even small amounts in the market. I'm not sure exactly of the rules concerning market buybacks but I think these shares are good value at any price up to 20p so perhaps they could bid the price up? Langland Also worth noting that the results are after charging goodwill of about 40k so between these 100k exceptional and the 80k of goodwill for the year the underlying earnings of the group may be as much as 2.2p - 2.5p a share. I'm much more positive about my investment in Leeds than I have been for some time, I hope it's not a false dawn. | arthur_lame_stocks
29/5/2005 12:02 | Not had a chance to comment until now. I agree that the results are promising. 312k after depressed performance from Hemmers which included the additional cost of 100k. By deduction, the company should be able to make at least 500k in the second half. (Reasoning is that the previously mentioned 100k drops out of the reckoning and general performance of the 2 companies should improve.). I think they could even make 600k which would put them at an annual rate of 1.2mn for next year with zero growth or improvement. That would put them on a multiple of only 4 times next year's (my forecast) profits. From a practical point of view I think a share buy-back will be difficult for liquidity reasons but I think it does reflect that the directors must be confident that they have now stabilised the situation and that the group can make decent profits in the future. If any of my comments bear any relation to the true picture, a share price of 20+ is a much more realistic valuation. | langland
29/5/2005 09:51 | It all sounds very encouraging. Management seem to have learnt well from past mistakes and now have a good handle on things. Profits look set to increase nicely and a share buyback can only increase the discount to assets which is the primary attraction of this company in the first place. I think I'll be buying a few more next week. | stewjames
28/5/2005 10:49 | agreed arthur. particularly liked the comment on share buybacks. the sooner they start. the better.but given the relatively low liquidity, volume, and the large blocks held by a few. seems to me it could be awkward, or a non event, or maybe certain large shareholders may get priority !!! ??? because we are told there is no concert party !!!! strange though that the directors dont consider the shares a good buy at theese levels !!! | cg1953
27/5/2005 18:55 | So where is everybody then? No comment on the results. Very good I thought, especially considering they've had a habit of surprising on the downside lately. The sharebuyback has to be good news as well. The holding company had over a million pounds in cash at the end of last year so they could buy back a substantial amount of shares. We might finally see the price of these shift back up to 20p or so. | arthur_lame_stocks
06/5/2005 11:50 | So did anybody go to the AGM or not? | arthur_lame_stocks
04/5/2005 12:44 | Just noticed this announcement today..... Booth Industries Group PLC 04 May 2005 BOOTH INDUSTRIES GROUP PLC (the 'Company') Holding in Company The Company was notified on 3 May 2005 that as at 29 April 2005, Richard Emslie and Senlac Enterprises Ltd (jointly owned by Alasdair and Richard Emslie) together have an interest in 448,000 ordinary shares in the Company representing 3.35 per cent of the issued share capital of that class. | langland
29/4/2005 11:10 | langland. they have stated adinfinitum 'they want to raise shareholder value'. as every plc in the land should want. feel sure that if any deal were 'imminent' an announcement would have to be made. ergo; in the interim they are free to deal. | cg1953
29/4/2005 10:17 | One thought re the directors is that if they are trying to restrucure/sell the 2 cos/get value out, they may be precluded from buying. | langland
29/4/2005 10:04 | emslies finally tempted to buy more !!! now at 4% directors remain conspicuous by there reluctance. | cg1953
02/4/2005 18:40 | suspect end of the year tax loss selling is depressing the price | golconda
02/4/2005 08:55 | testing recent new lows !!! worrying. not even the emslies seem tempted to average down ? and the directors probably have more sense that to buy shares and demonstrate any faith in there endeavours to create shareholder value !!!! | cg1953
23/3/2005 11:17 | poacher45 Did you go to the AGM? Is there anything you can tell us worth knowing? Did anybody else go? I see there was a sort of profit warning in there with the AGM statement. Arthur | arthur_lame_stocks
15/3/2005 10:06 | poacher45. thanks and replied. share price slipping ahead of the agm ? more bad news on the way ? | cg1953
09/3/2005 09:29 | poacher45. many thanks. i will be unable to attend the AGM, however i am more than happy to arrange for you to be my proxy and vote for me, and others that i represent;though in total its less than 3%.all held in nominees. yes, it would be nice to know who the 'emslies' are ? although there monetary investment at the current lowly price is not huge. | cg1953
08/3/2005 13:19 | HugePants Nothing you won't have heard of! I'm waiting to get some money from SHW because there's a few I want to have a look at. Incidentally I think that P O'Reilly may be the same P O'Reilly who has a large holding in PIV (which I hold). Arthur | arthur_lame_stocks |
