01/4/2011 11:02 | mreasygoing - mechanical trader has already said he's short (post 1919). | chrisg
01/4/2011 10:58 | LOL. Yep youve just seen my earlier post. Dont worry we all do that, no probs. I like to hear the other sides argument not like a lot of otheres who just put their in heads in the sand. What youve got to remember mreasygoing is that 4.2% drop is like for like compared to last year. We all know theirs a fall off in consumer spending like you point out after xmas and new year period. Just look at this next news item, its one most missed yesterday... | mechanical trader
01/4/2011 10:49 | Oh I forgot, you're probably short ! | mreasygoing
01/4/2011 10:45 | mechanical trader if you're not interested in this share why post here ? I look at the bigger picture rather than an 8 week post Christmas snapshot, which as I reiterate is a traditional weaker period for the consumer. Take a look at the figures from yesterday's statement and again I ask why bother posting here, if you are not interested in buying this share ? | mreasygoing
01/4/2011 10:42 | A few shorters taking profits at the moment. Premature imo, way too premature. Im sure these will drift lower as the year goes on and more and more retailers come out with horror stories. Rumour doing the rounds that M@S are likely to report a profit warning. That will have negative consequences on the whole retail sector. | mechanical trader
01/4/2011 10:37 | mreasygoing, your looking backwards not forwards. a 4.2% fall off, is nothing to take lightly. Dont forget the cuts to jobs havent taken place yet. When they do that 4.2% fall could look miniscule especially when interest rates are increased in the next month, and then twice again after. Too many people in this country have over extend themselves. Discretionary spend is going to really get clobbered and ALY RELY on that. | mechanical trader
01/4/2011 10:35 | bobbyifa we seen all this before, many times...good results, drives share price down, no one knows why only the market makers pdyor | philmac56
01/4/2011 10:29 | So much for CR having positive thoughts. At least YELL is goping up CR. :-) | clocktower
01/4/2011 10:27 | I should say one or two who inhabit this thread now. Or one with a split personality ! | mreasygoing
01/4/2011 10:22 | its going great guns ..... comical trader is driving the price down singlehanded ... its going to be a cracking bargain :))))) | ukinvestor220
01/4/2011 10:18 | This fall is in line with sector sentiment and slightly weaker trading in the past 8 weeks (post Christmas period) which is traditionally a weaker time for the consumer. The past 52 weeks trading at ALY have shown that the company is going from strength to strength, I know many who now inhabit this thread want it lower so they can get their hands on a bargain :- | mreasygoing
01/4/2011 10:10 | Looks like 19ps going to go. Wonder if 18p support will hold the fall. | mechanical trader
01/4/2011 09:19 | We close our Laura Ashley long ahead of the stop. The stock had a chunky down move yesterday. | mechanical trader

01/4/2011 09:00 | Heading fast to 18p. | mechanical trader

01/4/2011 08:20 | This may sound obvious but sometimes the simple obvious things are forgotten: If you were coming to the table afresh today, would you buy this share? i.e. you have no emotions either way because you are not long or short and hopefully are not biased because of making or losing money on this particular company in the past. So, the question is: Buy or Sell? So you look at whatever you use to guide your decisions such as fundamental/technica I don't claim to be an expert, but on answering this question, I have sold. | tillman
01/4/2011 01:38 | Im expecting this to fall further friday after numerous reports in the friday morning press of the bad news. | mechanical trader
31/3/2011 16:19 | Chart showing the very bearish position ALY finds itself in today. doesnt look very good for the rest of this year. | mechanical trader |
