30/11/2017 23:10 | i wonder if anyone can help is the level of housebuilding the best proxy for Lthm business activity? or is the type of timber they deal in more specialised? do they offer next day delivery in awkward places like wales and cornwall as well as the rest of the country as some of their competitors do? anyone think that the 40p fall on opening was about the right reaction to the figures today in the context of the level of the market generally and the susequent collapse to 830 was all about stop-losses being triggered? | ![]() mw8156 | |

18/10/2017 11:35 | hvs may be that volumes were not up 6% at the AGM statement 2 months ago. On reflection, turnover was up 6% in the first few months of the new financial year but this may have had more to do with price rises to accommodate costs of timber imports in euros and dollars than volumes which might even have declined or only been steady. In any event margins may have suffered slightly in relation to the same period one year ago because of sterling's fall. | ![]() mw8156 |
