I think it's safe to assume that JPMCaz were not delighted to see Investec appointed alongside them. But then JPM had reduced their TP down to 131p (while retaining "Overweight") but Investec have 165p for TP.
This could have added a little "noise" to today's price action.

PoO remains a disaster but is the market (as ever) forgetting/ignoring political issues? They're odds on to arrive either early or late in 2016.

I really don't believe there will be a free pint of oil with every packet of corn flakes - but the market's heading there !!

They have said a dividend won't be payable for this year.

One question the visitors will have asked is when will you
be paying a dividend? The answer could have been sooner than
you might think. You do not hire 1500 if things are not
progressing well, and if they are a dividend is due.

Just my thoughts.

Very good update, hiring another 1,500 people after we have invested heavily to make the business more efficient: I really don't think the current board have taken a wrong step. Had the price of oil not declined...but people are still investing in exploration and extraction and environmental pressures may even cause people to accelerate extraction. Happy to hold in any event.

LAM seems to have taken on the status of a minnow. It has an excellent balance sheet, a very good business and (despite the downturn) very acceptable profitability. But no one is interested. Essentially the POO rules all.

A dividend here would help but even with the same there are just not enough believers in the sector.

So despite a smashing update we get a yawn; the market doesn't do long term thinking like it used to. So followers here will have to take their "patience pills" a bit longer. I'll go and buy another packet!!

I thought the same. Perhaps they're waiting to have something new to say.
The POO remains the problem; however in my opinion something will have to give by end H1/2016. The article below makes sense to me:

Small volume seems to effect LAM. Thought there should have been a trading statement around this time, like last year.....

On the plus side petrofac picked up a decent order yesterday that could have an effet on Lamprell if it is similar to the project they are helping with for Abu Dhabi?

When I queried the IMS updates at the AGM I was told that at the time they would continue to do them(albiet back in May), it was also added that it could take two weeks to put together of the FD and CEO'S time, time I am sure you would agree would be better spent on running the business.

They updated not long ago, no growth in 2016, but high cash levels so this co. ok, albeit working capital!

Having worked for large PLC's all my corporate life (30+ years), who have all followed a rigid calendar for announcing interims, trading updates, full results etc., I find it very frustrating when some companies just issue interims or a trading update whenever they feel like it. Suggests to me they do not really care about the small shareholder.

Having exchanged emails with investor relations and having chased for a response, it seems the trading update is approx. 4 weeks away but no date has been set. This time last year a trading update was provided on 13th Nov 2014.

Given where the share price is currently, an update sooner rather than later would be appreciated!
