24/4/2014 16:44 | So let's assume a bid is being put together - presumably it has to be above the current share price - presumably to be a credible one - or am I wrong?Accepted if they offer 160p for example I shall be disappointed given they seem to be in recovery and last year I would have wanted £2, but given I have held these in the 140s for what seems eternity a bid above would be higher than where we are. Or do you think they can engineer a bid price below where we are? | ![]() davr0s
24/4/2014 15:36 | I would suggest the only way the mm's can get this higher is to close it on the offer, providing the offer is 146.5p. dyor regards active | ![]() srpactive

24/4/2014 14:12 | I have that same feeling. There's a mini overhang of some sort. Just have to await it's being cleared. I still find it extraordinary that the house broker (JPM) rushed out a TP downgrade to 165p while Citi issued a more measured TP upgrade to 200p. Are JPM for the high jump? Or just a bit indifferent? Time will tell. DYOR | ![]() plunger2

22/4/2014 20:41 | Staying with the smaller companies, oil rig maker Lamprell, which last week won a $390m order from Ensco, climbed 4¾ to 144¾p amid optimism that the group's prospects are brightening. Analysts at heavyweight broker Citigroup spurred demand for the shares by raising their recommendation on the stock to "buy" and telling clients that "Lamprell's turnaround is gaining momentum". Until last week, the analysts said they had viewed the group's "goal of winning awards from top-tier drilling contractors and major oil companies as a longer-term objective". The Ensco deal, however, had "largely dispelled" that "scepticism". | durby

22/4/2014 10:43 | I can confirm that goats generally cannot walk on water. And that they don't generally smell of roses. Hope this helps. | ![]() brando69
22/4/2014 10:36 | Before I refer to some of the rose coloured posters on the GKP thread who still believe that Kozel can walk on water (mind you they are a small band on heavy medication), as Kozels - can you confirm that the Russian for Kozel is goat I would hate to describe someone as a Kozel - that would just be too degrading BUT goat - yup that's OK | todismypal
22/4/2014 10:21 | bgw Yes I think you have called this right. If it drops to the range I mentioned a quick in and out may well be on the cards but the usual caveats apply especially those relating to the BoD. | todismypal
22/4/2014 10:16 | Thanks Tod, it's one I keep an eye on but fortunately haven't traded. Like you, might be tempted on a further big drop - but just a small punt for a quick trade. | bgwesley
22/4/2014 10:04 | bgw Re GKP - the BoD running that company have indeed a lot to answer for. The CEO Kozel has paid himself obscene sums of money (ours) (IN FACT SEVERAL TIMES MORE THAN THE CEO OF SHELL) and seems intent on running the company into the ground. The guy hasn't a clue and regrettably a lot of PIs are going to/have lost a lot of their savings - IMV it is criminal. That said with the share price at 91p (who could ever have imagined such a figure??) it seems likely a further fall to around 40 - 50 p is on the cards. Were that to happen AND a new BoD installed then the company would be worth a punt IMO BUT not until Kozel and his fellow robbers are removed I escaped with a small profit but many are sitting on massive paper losses - and currently it is difficult to see any salvation for them. | todismypal
22/4/2014 09:51 | Seems to have taken a bit of a breather after a good start. Tod, bet you're glad you sold out of GKP a while back. Would you look to get back in at a lower price, or are you going to stay permanently clear of that one? | bgwesley
22/4/2014 09:44 | Very true but it's only 9.45. Once we clear 150p then I will be a happy chappie | todismypal

17/4/2014 13:50 | Well as we stand the orders pipeline is $1.2b (=.8b+.4b). Can anyone point to it EVER having been higher in LAM's history? Yes we've been at 1.2b before. But now it's with the new team of better engineers and better cost controllers. And we're really only starting. Also remember that LAM gets walk-in business of 30+% of Turnover. And also remember that small wins are not announced. Sorry to be a bore but I think there'll be a more interesting explanation for the absence of volume (and thus buying) in due course. But we'll see. JMHO | ![]() plunger2
17/4/2014 12:41 | If I didn't believe I was going to improve my capital why would I be here? No not this morning mate, Agm next month though. | ![]() deanowls
17/4/2014 12:41 | I don't think anyone was expecting a huge rise but if the price is going to go down when they do indeed win a sizeable contract why bother holding. Yes of course they need more contracts but this time earlier this week there was no contract and now we have one. I am still holding but not sure I will for much longer as it's done very little in a year despite the progress made | ![]() davr0s
17/4/2014 11:58 | deanowls You are very positive, you could get a job marketing lam, have you bumped into any lamprell family member this morning. dyor regards active | ![]() srpactive |
