07/2/2011 11:31 | "....If we did nothing by June 30 we would have about £100m on the balance sheet and I think that leaves us enough cash in the business that we can [pursue this strategy] without incurring debt or issuing any additional equity," he said. Altium Securities said Kofax's first-half earnings "underscored the accelerating momentum of its software business", noting software licenses had risen 15 per cent over the period, a key indicator of the business. Kofax, which has been named as a takeover target for larger UK peers such as Autonomy, rose 25.5p to 388p on Monday morning. (FT) | m.t.glass
07/2/2011 10:18 | The Panmure FY-12 EPS 30.9p now looks to me to be achievable. (I used to think it was mistakenly written in US cents). If that is achieved the share price could well be over 500p a year from now. | cellars
07/2/2011 09:45 | Numis just raised also, 408p from 350p. | matt123d
07/2/2011 08:37 | Canaccord, Altium and Panmure all raise targets, 464p from 400p, 420p from 380p and 320p from 259p respectiviely. That's a 30% increase from Panmure! | matt123d
07/2/2011 07:14 | Interim results. What a cracker!! with more to come. | cellars
06/2/2011 10:30 | Big surge in price on Friday - and no comments here..? | m.t.glass
24/1/2011 11:19 | Highlighted as a Buy by Midas' inaugral article on looking at Directors' Buying in Mail on Sunday yesterday. Referred to trading outlook too. | cellars
17/1/2011 18:28 | Yes, a very neat solution. However, I am looking forward to the Interims with interest. The MBO could dilute EPS by some 10% (allowing that some corporate overhead would have been recovered from the Hardware Division). Too late in the year for an EPS enhancing acquisition. I guess the higher performance of the software Division will largely make up the dilution. Hopefully the market will award a higher PER to pure software earnings. Also, makes the job easier for anyone interested in buying Kofax itself. | cellars
17/1/2011 09:05 | And H1 materially ahead of expectations. Added a few first thing. | wjccghcc
17/1/2011 08:14 | Good that they've finally sold the hardware side - and I like the way they've done it. | m.t.glass
17/1/2011 08:08 | Nice. Two broker upgrades as well. Canaccord and Altium say Buy, targets 400p and 380p respectively. | matt123d
17/1/2011 08:04 | Hardware side sold - now a pure play software co on a low PE imo. CR | cockneyrebel

13/1/2011 11:34 | nellie - that seems to have quite a powerful effect. Up strongly ever since, including today. | m.t.glass

22/12/2010 18:33 | Praipus, apologies for the late reply. I have had another look at KFX this week and have looked at the Investec 2011 forecasts, which suggest that the 2011 PER is approx 30x. Some of the forecasts are in $, as they now report in that currency, so you need to look at the £ estimates to gauge an accurate PER. I bought KFX heavily last year at prices between £1.66-£1.89 a share, however on the basis of these estimates, the PER looks to more than factor in any growth, imv. Yes there has been takover speculation here previously, I have mentioned the possibility of an offer by AU.,EDP, or Iron Mountain previously. This was not the reason for buying the shares, I expected a large increase in pre tax profits. The restructuring of the hardware division, and the rapid reduction in that units profitability, impacted this to a degree. The software division is the key to the valuation imo, and will keep this on a watch list - would also like to see some decent sized new contract wins in January 2011. Good fortune. | essentialinvestor
15/12/2010 20:45 | Thank you Good Luck to you too. If you havent sold up and left for good Essential what do you make the PE ratio for KFX? 15 or 4,871.49 as per ADVFN? | praipus
15/12/2010 15:47 | Look at the first 6 months of this year and you will see what I mean. Logica is not a contract win btw, it's and agreement. Anyway that is my view, and what I am saying can easily be checked. It was 3/4 wins per month in the first half on the year, where the company issued an RNS, it's down to nearly 1 a month now. Good luck. | essentialinvestor
15/12/2010 15:39 | Logica, US Military etc! I'm surprised your worried | praipus
15/12/2010 15:34 | Interesting I'll have a look. I wonder what the criteria for announcing a contract win is. | praipus
15/12/2010 15:11 | Essential do you know anyone in the company? | praipus
15/12/2010 14:51 | I would like to see some more contract wins, very quiet on that front over the last few months imv. Earlier this year it was 3/4 a month, this appears to have significantly slowed. | essentialinvestor
15/12/2010 14:27 | Us about to open? | praipus |
