Essential,

I suspect there is a bit of personal between EMC & Bish about how to run a company that made an EMC deal unlikely (something said on a conference call years ago). But, I also suspected there were other candidates, such as Xerox, with similar needs to Lexmark and Bish knows his market well.

Ironically I had mentioned several times over the years of the bid potential,
thought EMC may have pounced before now, but Lexmark have it.

I am glad I continued to hold and just a bit relieved because it is a very large piece of my portfolio. Even so a part of me thinks Lexmark is getting a very good deal. A pity HP hasn't come up with an Autonomy style price!!

Interims looked ok, they seem to have recovered from the order slippage from the first quarter. But I seem to be the only one left here, so I'll stop talking to myself.

Interims early this year (Jan 29 vs Feb 13). Perhaps good news, but probably just announced early to prepare for questions at the meeting on 9 Feb easier.

Well Numis got that wrong! Ok, early days yet I guess. However today's conference call backed up Kofax's assumption that the disappointing final quarter was just because business slipped into the next year rather than was lost, so guidance for this year is healthily up: eg total revenues up from 297 to June '14 to 340 expected to June '1§.

Sadly they are dropping the UK listing in March '15, so I expect that means I will be selling out, but I'll look and see what it means for the costs of holding.

Having listened to the webcast of the conference call at I am much more optimistic. Management seem fairly confident that this is a blip, not the start of a new trend. They say it is too early to say if the business that slipped out of this year will effectively add in to next year's results, but they weren't denying that as a possibility. Worth listening.

I was interested to hear that before the Nasdaq listing 43% of the shares were held by US residents or by institutions who could be expected to vote as would US residents, and now the figure is 70%. That shift of ownership has been responsible (I assume) for the rising share price. The share price fell very sharply after the RNS when dealings opened in the UK, and recovered a good part once the USA opened. Perhaps it will recover further on Monday given the (I thought) very encouraging conference call.

We should expect to see an RNS in the next week or two announcing the signing of at least some of the delayed revenue deals.

The contents and description of this announcement were rather unusual - "Selected Preliminary Unaudited Financial Results for its Fiscal Year Ended June 30, 2014", is a terminology I don't recall seeing for any other companies I have held.
Why not a straightforward ims containing a profits warning?
For me it conjours up a picture of something rather more serious with the possibility of further revelations to come.
Anyway, as a result I have now sold the last part of my holding, which I had been reducing over time. It's a pity I had to do it on such a down day but I do think there is better value elsewhere with less exposure to the fortunes of an over-valued US market.

Yes, but they did spike back up last month. Thought it looked fully valued and so exited entirely then. Wait for a couple of quarters to see how things pan out.

Pity, now we know why the shares spiked down to 390. I don't expect they will recover as quickly this time. Pity, I had been thinking of my Kofax shares as a piggy bank. I guess they have turned into an investment. :-(

What does "greater than ADV" mean? But yes, it's nice to see KFX recover so quickly from the sharp dip. Are they at last going to pull above the 2011 high?

The share price gyrations over the past couple of months seem difficult to explain and presumably came as a surprise to director Chris Conway who bought at around 500p at the start of April.
Very nice for anyone who accurately traded the dip.

Really strong breakout above 490p in last few days, now 525p, hopefully heading for all time highs above 540p
