"There was heavy trading yesterday in KCom , up 4.3 per cent to 48½p, after Liberum Capital cleared a stock overhang.

Shares in the telecoms and IT group were given an additional boosted by Evolution Securities, which reiterated its "buy" recommendation in the wake of a presentation by Bill Halbert, KCom chairman, and Paul Simpson, chief financial officer.

"Management seem up-beat on the potential for new contract wins and we have no reason to believe that the restructuring momentum has run out of steam," said Evolution, noting that a trading update was due on January 29. More than 30m KCom shares changed hands."

According to the Times today there is a rumour that Soc Gen had sold almost its entire stake...."Encouragingly for management,there were plenty of willing buyers,sending the shares up2p to 48.5p"

for the share price to have held in this range would suggest that there are new contracts to be announced in the near term. If managment statements are due at the end of this month i would expect to hear something before then.
Combine that with a relatively strong L2 over the past few days and i would expect to see the share price pushing 50 and onwards

Extremely large volume today.

The co has it's Interim Management Statement at the end of the month - someone taking a lot of stock off somebody ahead of that?

My only post on here over the last 6 months was on 14th Sept(post833) when I predicted a strong move up which began the next day and which saw a 40.8% move over 7 trading days.That was based on the technical set up.I am not usually anything like as successful as that normally,but FWIW I think another reasonably strong move up is possible now.The case this time is probably not so compelling but nevertheless looks favourable.DYOR.

I wounder what the 250 cash is for then ? Maybe they don't want me to sell my shares as I guess they would take the cash back !!

Lucky you then! It shouldn't be, from Interim Results:

"Dividend

The interim dividend is 0.5 pence per share (2008: 0.5 pence). The dividend will be paid on 1 February 2010 to shareholders registered on 18 December 2009."

MM18, I can confirm that the divi is not due until 1st Feb, checked it yesterday when I spotted the XD sign on my Monitor.
