13/4/2018 22:43 | Reading this description of their new office gives the strong sense of how they are still building foundations for the long term in an industry that is still relatively young. They are not only focused on being financially clever (combining their strategic locations in N America with their lower cost base artists in Asia) but also building a culture that their staff buy into. Despite having bought and sold over the last couple of years I am happy to hold on long term to my existing holding which is currently worth about 60 percent of my SIPP. | scooper72
13/4/2018 13:49 | Thanks rivaldo. All good stuff. As a matter of interest (idle curiosity), since we both have several share holdings in common, I wonder if you know of Sopheon (SPE). I only discovered it recently and find it to be a very interesting prospect - software and services for innovation management. Small Co, but has majors like BASF, P&G and Merck as customers. | aimingupward2
13/4/2018 13:15 | All systems go in Canada.... "Keywords expands North America HQ in Montreal April 12th, 2018 - 11:33am By Craig Chapple, Senior Editor Services provider Keywords Studios is expanding its North American HQ based in Montreal as it prepares for a hiring spree. The company plans to invest $1.1 million on the 17,000 square foot expansion, which will include additional workstations and a new common area. In total Keywords has 75,000 square feet of office space in the city and now has a further 10-year lease on its Montreal HQ. Continued growth The firm said the expansion means the office will become a “single end-to-end solution” provider for its global customer-base. Currently the Montreal team focuses on QA, localisation, player support and UI/UX research. Keywords said it now has the second largest games studio in Montreal, a city also home to Ubisoft. “We look forward to continuing Keywords Studios’ growth within such a creative and innovative community for games makers here in Montreal,” said Keywords Studios Americas MD Nicolas Liorzou. “Importantly, this provides our staff with a superior fit-for-purpose work environment, as we will now have more capacity than ever to solidify our vision for the future of games development.” Keywords has been on a significant acquisition spree over the last few years since it went public. Recently it expanded its audio services with the purchase of Cord Worldwide, Laced Music and Maximal." | rivaldo
13/4/2018 13:04 | The more smaller companies there are coming along to develop new games, and that seems to be the trend, the more likely it is that KWS will be called upon for all the background services which these new entrants will not be able to cope with themselves. All looking good for as far ahead as we can reasonably see. And yes, christh, even if not today, £18 and more is not far away - and maybe £20 is closer than we'd have thought a few weeks back. | aimingupward2
13/4/2018 08:33 | It will test £18 today in my opinion. Videogame is a major industry employing many people in UK and worth £ Billions. Listen to the report from the BBC news this morning | christh
13/4/2018 08:22 | Bafta Games Awards: Who won on gaming's big night? Who won the top prizes at this year's gaming Baftas? Forty-five games were nominated ahead of Thursday night's ceremony in London. Sales of video games, consoles, PC gaming add-ons and other related products hit £5.1bn in the UK last year, according to the trade body Ukie. That marked a record high and a 12.4% improvement on the previous year, with the launches of the Nintendo Switch and Microsoft's Xbox One X helping to drive interest. | christh

12/4/2018 10:22 | Nice comment from Berenberg from that article: "German bank Berenberg, which rates the shares a ‘buy’ and has a price target of 2,060p, sees this trend as evidence that computer games publishers and developers are moving away from “tactical outsourcing” towards strategic arrangements with trusted partners. “Keywords also indicated it is seeing some benefits from the rapidly growing eSports market, mostly through the provision of its services for game development and in-game support, but also via marketing and communications management of the events themselves. Keywords highlights that it is continuing to seek out ways to leverage the growth in eSports further,” Berenberg observed." | rivaldo

12/4/2018 09:35 | IC TIP UPDATES: April 9, 2018 Keywords Studios (KWS) saw a 57% rise in sales to €151m for 2017, buoyed by 11 acquisitions and 15.1% like-for-like organic growth. The services provider to the global video games industry said the acquisition pipeline “remains healthy”. Future growth should be propelled by a combination of €11.1m in net cash as at the year-end, and the group’s extension of its revolving credit facility from €35m to a potential €105m. Two new acquisitions were also announced today: Cord, and Laced Music, for £4.5m. The shares were down 2 per cent in morning trading. We’re still buyers. | christh
