03/12/2013 09:08 | Apparently WH Ireland have just issued a Buy note on KENZ at 592p. Hopefully more info to come. | ![]() rivaldo

28/11/2013 13:10 | I recall buying 10000 @ £1.23 way back in Feb 2008. I should have had more faith and kept hold. They'd be worth £60k now. I reckon these will get taken out pretty soon. One approach for a quality company bodes well for another approach OC | olivercromwell
28/11/2013 12:26 | KENZ takeover talk discussed on FT Alphaville: "Kentz Corporation Ltd (KENZ:LSE): Last: 592.00, up 12 (+2.07%), High: 608.50, Low: 576.00, Volume: 368.98k BE Had a bit of a jump earlier .... BE After Bloomberg filleted a report in something called Acquisitions Daily BE Which appears to have filleted what we wrote in the paper overnight. BE Which is what poster @FJP mentioned in this very place yesterday. BE So goes the rumour mill .... BE Anyway, the theory is that M+W's running the numbers again. BE hxxp://www.acquisi.. BE Asked a few questions about this yesterday ... BE Firstly, about the six-month lockup post the last bid. BE And was pointed towards the following boilerplate .... BE On M+W's RNS of September 13 ... BE For the purposes of Rule 2.8 of the Takeover Code, M+W Group reserves the right to announce an offer or possible offer for Kentz or make or participate in an offer or possible offer for Kentz and/or take any other action otherwise precluded under Rule 2.8 of the Takeover Code within six months of the date of this announcement in the circumstances described in note 2 to Rule 2.8 of the Takeover Code. BE Now, you'll see the same wording on Severn Trent and Exillon withdrawals. BE But, taken at face value, it would seem to reserve the right to ignore the 2.8 lockdown entirely. BE I'm not sure how that's possible. Talked to some M&A specialists about it yesterday and none seemed entirely clear on why this is now the preferred wording. BE Usually, under Rule 2.8, a bidder can come back with board approval. BE Which is not implausible in this case, I guess. BE Anyway, I note it." | ![]() rivaldo

28/11/2013 09:12 | Gargoyle2, thx for that. Anyone bidding now would surely have to pay 700p+ to get hold of KENZ. Given the cash pile they might have to stretch to 750p-800p. | ![]() rivaldo
28/11/2013 08:23 | Anybody thinking of having a dabble or selling? Go have a play with an online App called Bartchart dot com, type in the ticker of various companies, then try Typing in Kenz. Best Buy signal I've ever seen in 5 years playing with it (at the moment) | whizzy1
28/11/2013 01:01 | From today's FT market report: Meanwhile, sector peer Kentz edged higher at 2.1 per cent to 580p amid talk that M+W Group, the German engineering consultancy, was weighing up making another approach. In September, M+W and Amec both abandoned plans to buy Kentz, meaning any new approaches from the pair before March would have to work around Takeover Panel restrictions. | ![]() gargoyle2
27/11/2013 20:23 | Started buying in from the IPO, top sliced, bought another investment property cash and still up 456% ISA crammed with em. Not a typo either. Feeling blessed! | whizzy1
27/11/2013 20:23 | Today's rise probably on the back of 'report' that AMEC may approach Foster Wheeler. | whizzy1

27/11/2013 20:03 | We could see a well deserved breakout to new highs soon or even another takeover attempt. Still to cheap on today's generall market valuation | ![]() pjhutchy
27/11/2013 17:11 | Contract wins are the outcome of what can be many months of discussions with prospective customers, sometime even 1 year ahead they'll have dialogue on lines of 'next year we hope to', so although Kenz can't count their chickens they know whats on its way and have a gut feeling for chance of landing it, often down to personality and confidence rather than just $$$. In short, they knew what was on the cards, hence the comments on lines of they were focused on running the business. If they'd given time to merge/be taken over etc, that would mean lost senior management time landing the bread and butter. Shorter still.. They know they could play it coooool. ;-) | ![]() dr_smith

27/11/2013 13:50 | KENZ have had a remarkable run of success since AMEC's offer lapsed two months ago, and are promising even more contract wins - it's hardly surprising that they wanted to stay independent... 21 Nov 2013 Kentz awarded 5 year engineering framework agreement for SAMREF in Saudi Arabia 20 Nov 2013 Kentz awarded US$190 million contract with Qatar Petroleum 18 Nov 2013 Collaboration Key to Kalkbult Solar Success 18 Nov 2013 Interim Management Statement November 2013 11 Nov 2013 Kentz awarded five year construction contract in Kazakhstan 08 Nov 2013 Kentz exhibit at the 2013 ADIPEC 14 Oct 2013 Kentz awarded EPCm contract with Qatar Shell GTL Ltd. in the Middle East 08 Oct 2013 Kentz awarded TSS contract for the Qatargas Laffan Refinery in Qatar 01 Oct 2013 Kentz wins Instrumentation and Electrical Support Services Contract for Canadian SAGD operation 25 Sep 2013 Kentz awarded two EPC contracts in the Middle East 13 Sep 2013 Termination of Offer Period | ![]() rivaldo

27/11/2013 11:49 | The price recovery, post the lapsing of bid interests, confirms a market consensus was that the bid was pitched too low. There are more pennies to be had in remaining independent. | ![]() steeplejack
27/11/2013 10:48 | SP was 577.50 in last hour in contrast to (end of day) peak of 584 when the bids broke news in August. SP is typically inflated upon news takeover plans with optimism and post merger prospects of cross selling and cost savings. To now reach a like price under 'normal' market conditions in such a short time is good going, though many will say it was just undervalued and is now showing its correct worth. Either way, as a shareholder who has done well (42.6% return after costs) I am quite happy. Often a short term increase in share price means future expectations for share price increase are offset, but am sure I am not alone in staying put for the longer term as outlook has progressed as well. | ![]() dr_smith |
