08/10/2013 07:35 | Nice vote of confidence this morning from Qatar with another contract from Qatargas: | ![]() rivaldo
04/10/2013 10:28 | Thanks for the responses. I only hold and follow a few shares so not aware of wider market action. I bought in at 370 in june and resisted the temptation to sell after the bid anouncement at 590. Regretting my decision now so hoping the market realizes the value to at least 565p (as Amec's lower end). I topped up my holding at 485 so hoping its bottomed out, though I feel as though im trying to catch a falling knife now! | sheyac
04/10/2013 10:18 | Bought a small position yesterday with a buy order to pick more up at 456 if it goes down over next couple of weeks on the back of adverse market news e.g. USA etc. Looks good for a long term hold, I'm not too good at selling so choose fairly carefully. Hope I'm right? | ![]() chickcrumbs
04/10/2013 10:03 | Sheyac, don't think much is happening at all with Mr Market and the recognition of what a cracking company Kentz is: AMEC certainly tried to buy it on the cheap according to the BODs. In my opinion, it's just a question of long term hold of a high quality stock where the investor either gets his reward by share price appreciation or a big boy buys it. I intend to look only occasionally at the share price for Kentz and wait for quality to win in the long haul. I was very fortunate to buy a decent holding of thee at 380p when the share price was depressed back in June 13. Wish I was always that lucky! | ![]() hatter2
04/10/2013 09:48 | Any ideas what is happening with this? What is with the low volume and small share price changes? | sheyac

29/9/2013 21:07 | 999plunger, thanks for these interesting and argumented comments. Mine were ironic, Kentz does not do any business with Petrobas indeed, if one is to glance their presentations. Vallourec was down 9% on Friday after warning of delays on offshore contracts there. Petrobas has been mirred in bureaucratic and political wrangles for the last 2 years, which has generated a lots of frustration and occasional profit warnings among deep offshore service suppliers for what I can read. | ![]() alphahunter

27/9/2013 23:13 | Alphahunter - As someone who knows a little more about where Kentz opperate I have no knowlege of any interest they have in S America. Certainly they have some involvement offshore in the rest of the world however the majority of their activities are onshore in the downstream side on the Oil & Gas business. To the best of my knowlege their last offshore (Upstream) project was in Qatar. The Soothsayer is ready to be corrected! Also stay well clear of Brazil in your emerging market portfolios. My company has lost its shirt after investing 2 billion US$ in the largest Brazilian offshore company run by the 5th richest man in the world. Now he's probably the 1005th richest man in the world! For those who have not ventured at length into the Company's (Kentz not mine - as if I would divulge that) website there are some interesting publications available to peruse. As well as the usual newcomers and interviews with personnel new and existing contacts are also described in a little more detail. Obviously not all the existing contracts are included but generally all new contacts are described. Hope this may be of interest rather than the email flashes we all receive from the company which half the time they don't underline so you cant click and go straight to the website. But their angain it is basically a company with Irish roots. PS I did previously mention my wife was Irish didn't I? Hope this gets some smiles going for the weekend. | 999plunger
27/9/2013 22:45 | WyleCoyote I'm with you on the £4.00 share price For some (unknown) reason my last posting was not posted. I'm also looking for the opportunity to buy in again but you know what they say. You have as much chance of seeing that level again as "pigs could fly". Then if the impossible did occur you try commodities and buy pork bellies as bacon would go up!!!! Maybe the thread "minder" doesn't appreaciate my sense of humour. Did warn you all to take profit on at least 50% of your shareholding when it peaked or just after it peaked and certaily before the big drop. The Soothsayer was correct - again. | 999plunger
