12/9/2013 09:10 | What do you all make if this comment?: "As a result of this announcement, AMEC will, except with the consent of the Takeover Panel, be bound by the restrictions contained in Rule 2.8 of the Code. For the purposes of Rule 2.8 of the Code, AMEC reserves the right to make or participate in an offer for Kentz (and/or take any other action which would otherwise be restricted under Rule 2.8 of the Code) within the next six months following the date of this announcement in the circumstances set out in Note 2 on Rule 2.8 of the Code." | leelike
12/9/2013 09:05 | Steeplejack I deduced from your obsession with short term price movements that you were a nervous holder. | roddiemac2
12/9/2013 09:00 | Steeplejack-9 Sept....."The market is suggesting that the likelihood of a bid approach is now receding.."roddiemac | steeplejack
12/9/2013 08:58 | I naturally wanted the bid to come of at around 700.0p. However, I took my profits at around 565.0p. It was clear that the market didn't believe that AMEC would persue this. I will however, look to buy in at another good price. I will watch closely. | wylecoyote
12/9/2013 08:54 | We weren't talking about my verbosity roddiemac,we are talking about your inability to accept the market has " intelligence" as you call it.Of course it has " intelligence".My interpretation of what I thought the price moves were saying, led me to sell half my holding. | steeplejack
12/9/2013 08:50 | rivaldo You are exactly right. | roddiemac2
12/9/2013 08:50 | Immediately prior to the bid approach RNS,the price was around 465.When the dust settles, that price should provide a floor.Add some coppers for the fact that the company has and will remain susceptible to bid interest and a price around current levels of 485 odd seems reasonable. | steeplejack
12/9/2013 08:45 | Steeplejack You have the greatest proclivity for verbosity. | roddiemac2
12/9/2013 08:43 | The Severn Trent Sp fell back to much more normal levels after the bid was fought off. Down from c£22 to £17.20/£17.50 levels. | redartbmud
12/9/2013 08:43 | hopefully when all of the arbs have finished moving on, i will then get my chance to double up at a very silly price | spob
12/9/2013 08:41 | Well,so much for roddiemac1 comments, the Kentz price was slipping, suggesting that the bid was off.One could read something into the price moves and nowadays,in markets which are so leaky, one would be a fool to dismiss the short term moves as inconsequential. | steeplejack
12/9/2013 08:40 | They know... that's why they wanted to steal it because they know how much value it would add to their business anyway they aint getting their hands on it and i'm happy to hold this for many years to come was really hoping for a much bigger fall this morning in order to double my holding 49p forward earnings per share here and all that cash on top this is cheap as chips | spob
12/9/2013 08:39 | At the current price KENZ is almost on a single-figure P/E based on Arden's 48.4p EPS forecast for next year - and if you strip out the cash that P/E falls to probably nearer just 7 or so. I'm hopeful that KENZ will, as they've flagged, soon be able to announce an earnings-enhancing acquisition from cash. This might itself propel the share price back to 575p-600p even without any further bid action. | rivaldo
12/9/2013 08:36 | Agreed. Lack of judgement from Amec; they should know how takeovers work. | valhamos
12/9/2013 08:35 | Surely the share price should be supported at 565 given that was the low end of the amec bid, who valued it while being in the oil industry itself? | sheyac
12/9/2013 08:00 | Good for Kentz, but the share price is bound to suffer in the short term. I hope that the arbs get burned, but that will be in a limited way I fear. | redartbmud
12/9/2013 07:50 | Not surprised it was clear from the language of BOD that they wished to stay independent - the company has a higher profile now and higher value has been established. AO | a0148009
12/9/2013 07:49 | actually I think KENZ is 'less in play' now than it was before the AMEC bid. Reason - other companies know they cannot expect a 'low-ball' offer to be accepted. And AMEC have walked away. ....I would do my due diligence elsewhere if I was acquisitive. whether you think that is good or bad depends on your perspective. looking for 450p to get back in. | melody9999
12/9/2013 07:35 | £4 here we come again! | dahhad
12/9/2013 07:34 | The price will fall but not too far. Kenz is now in play. | bigalan3
12/9/2013 07:31 | Amec were trying to get Kenz on the cheap. Thankfully the board have told them where to stick their naff offer. I will be buying more Kenz if they fall far enough | spob
12/9/2013 07:21 | So the AMEC bid is off.. | d40eq6
12/9/2013 07:20 | TIMBER............. :( | kacker1 |
