Tricky to understand move, only fear is exposure to Ecuador, being an emerging mkt. as such, chance of a currency hit, said in half year results one area that was challenging was resource utilisation.

I thought of two reasons:-

1: insider leak of trading update (negative news - insiders bailing)
2: insider leak of trading update (positive news - MM's want to buy stock cheap to sell higher on trading update).

Trouble is - could be either or it could be just randomness and I am always getting fooled by randomness.

Look like a shake to me, all the classic signs: MM's dropping price a penny or so at a time, on no bad news with stops getting hit and some panic sells no doubt. Likely to be in view of the imminent trading update so they've got stock. Likely it will recover during the course of the day and bounce nicely higher on the trading update. Recent range has been 120-125p ish so still more or less in this range. Last time their was a shake like this I picked up some more at just over 110p and they soon shot back up. Will do same again. Have to capitalise on these opportunities. Don't do what the MM's want you to do which is panic and sell! Remember, it opened at 125p and nothing has since changed! Good luck.

I see they put out a Pre-close Trading Update on Thu 24th Jan last year so maybe we will get something thu / fri. Fingers crossed petro-sim5 is game changing

Trading Update any day now, last year it was the 24th, previous to that it was the 12th. If the update does not indicate any PS5 orders, then possibly some of the ST and NT followers will take profits.

105.75p looks the key support as it's the top of the historic gap created when the share broke down in 2002.

Fingers crossed PS5 is quick to adopt.

Thanks Simon. Ideally, 120 is now support (rather than still resistance) for us now. I'd be happy with 160 by year end, but am hopeful that we'll be getting up towards that 240p resistance by then..

Historically, 1999 to 2001, the area around 120p worked as a support and resistance zone, after that 160p was a strong point of resistance:

Market makers having a laugh earlier on taking the shares down that much on what was very thin volume. Always happens during holiday periods.
