Yeah, good news doesn't always translate on the day. But what is there not to like, cash costs down, ramp up to schedule, more growth to come. Only piece of the puzzle missing is the refinancing.

Operating costs at Bozshakol have temporarily benefited from lower than anticipated maintenance requirements during the ramp up period, and full year gross cash costs are expected to be in the region of 20% below the bottom of the previously guided range of 140-160 USc/lb. Our growth will continue in 2017 as Bozshakol reaches capacity and we commence production from sulphide ore at Aktogay."

Antofagasta share price: Group posts Q4 production report

Copper production up 13.8%

Antofagasta plc CEO, Iván Arriagada said: "As expected Antofagasta put in a strong performance in the final quarter of 2016 with production up 13.8% versus the revious quarter. As a result, copper production for the full year was just under 710,000 tonnes, 12.5% higher than in 2015.

"Reflecting our continued focus on profitable tonnes, net cash costs for 2016 fell by 20.0% year-on-year, to $1.20/lb benefiting from rigorous cost control, increased production and lower input prices.

Kaz is a more refined, one of the cheapest producers and a much streamlined and better co that at anytime in its life. Eventually should break it's all time high.
