SP Angel . Morning View .

Kavango Resources (KAV LN) 1.8p, Mkt cap £7.8m – Confirmation of the nickel/copper and PGE potential of the Kalahari Suture Zone, Botswana

Kavango Resources reports that a review of geochemical drilling information and geophysical data by “a leading authority on nickel sulphide and platinum group element (PGE) exploration”, Richard Hornsey, has confirmed the potential for nickel/copper/PGE mineralisation in the Kalahari Suture Zone (KSZ) in Botswana.

Mr. Hornsey’s work includes reports on:
A review drill core; as well as
The lithogeochemistry; and
The “implications for prospectivity of the KSZ, with suggestions for optimising future exploration strategy” and concludes that:

There is potential for massive sulphide type mineralisation “associated with the Karoo Large Igneous Province ("LIP") in the KSZ North” and that there is also scope for “low sulphide Platinum Group Element-(Nickel-Copper) & Ni-Cu-(PGE) massive sulphide… [mineralisation] … associated with the regionally extensive Proterozoic (Tshane Complex) encompassing KSZ North and KSZ South”.

The review also confirms that Kavango’s use of “Controlled Source Audio Magnetotellurics ("CSAMT") and Surface Large Loop Time Domain Electromagnetics ("TDEM")” geophysical methods is appropriate “to discover economic metal deposits should they exist within discovery range”.

Describing the work as “the most comprehensive and successful exploration programme ever conducted on the Kalahari Suture Zone”, CEO, Ben Turney, explained that future work would “involve two parallel streams of work. In the field, we will continue deploying CSAMT and TDEM surveys, while preparing to drill the B Conductors. At the corporate level, we will step up our efforts in search of potential JV partners. The technical review is a substantial piece of work that contextualises the project based upon our exploration results and enables Kavango to undertake much more informed discussions with interested parties.”.

An executive summary of Mr. Hornsey’s findings is available on Kavango Resources’ website at hxxps://kavangoresources.com/media-library/technical-reports

In the past, Kavango Resources has alluded to similarities in the geological setting of the KSZ, which is located on the margins of the Kaapvaal Craton, and the major nickel/PGE occurrences at Norilsk in Russia. We look forward reading Mr. Hornsey’s view.

Conclusion: A review of the regional prospectivity of the Kalahari Suture Zone confirms the concept that it has the potential to host nickel, copper and PGE mineralisation and will help guide future exploration.

Ben will be able to chat about how amazing this is for a while.

Dr Drill is all that counts. Hence why the share price is where it is at.

JV would need to see assays.

Well no BungeeTrader, this was the year of 'discovery' apparently not the year of proving concept and I am sure when they dropped the last hole in the KSZ they expected to hit something hence all the excitement and then stunned silence.

Nothing matters now other than hitting a resource, all the rest is hot air. But if they can get a JV partner to do some of the heavy lifting that will help.

Pretty sure KAV has always been about 'prove the concept' then get a JV.
Well that's part one complete.
Some people are never happy whatever they do but lets see what happens with a JV.

Lots of words, but basically they've proved nothing.

More drilling and more money will be needed if they continue.

Mind you, 26 uses of the word 'potential' in one RNS must be some kind of record!

No point getting excited by these proof of concept reports.
Wake me up IF the drill bit actually hits something, whenever that will be.

Great to hear from you too Soulsauce. I didn’t catch the Q&A, and it sounds like that’s possibility a good thing from what I’ve been reading.

Yes, I can’t decide whether Ben’s (as you say) a used car salesman or genuinely knowledgeable and excited. If he’s a BS merchant, he’s a damned good actor. I guess on both fronts we just need yet more (!) patience… Nevermind, we’ll all be pushing up daises at the end of the day! Keep on keeping on. 👍

Alright Soulsauce? Been a while… Very well said. I’m starting to get a little twitchy here. Sure, it’s good to hear (credit where due) a very knowledgeable mouthpiece getting excited and either straining to get off the leash verbally (or pretending to…), and it’s only natural to think ‘what if’,…217;is this the one case where the guys being straight up and down and is simply beside himself with what he’s found and just can’t help himself.

Or……R30;is it just another liar standing at the top of a small, very deep hole? Do I catch the falling knife here, or am I in danger of getting drenched with a sizeable cow-pat from a great height. Slightly off topic - apologies - but AAU… holy smoke…ZZZZzzzzz…
Take it easy.

Agree with much of that pitot but with regards to the last point the rhetoric might not be as encouraging as Ben has had to reign himself in from the bluster he was blowing out before the start of this year and then shot himself squarely through both feet when he went silent because of the issues with the last drill in the Ksz.
I would hope less chatter and hype and more delivery would be the mantra from now on. Less used car salesman, more Ceo.

Absolutely agree. That's why most of us are here surely. Problem is the macro scene has got significantly worse, the sector as a whole is depressed, the company financials beyond the next 6 months aren't clear and probably most worrying for me, the company rhetoric isn't as encouraging.

Ben did say someone/thing was attempting to short them and he had compiled a report and sent it to the FCA and taken steps to knock the shorting on the head.
That was a while ago now though.
Beyond that the movement(s) is/are anyone's guess as to cause. I am still holding hopefully, The Bull.
