Katoro Gold PLC (AIM:KAT) soared after it told investors it has expanded its Iva lithium project, in Ontario, which now spans 1,130 hectares, up from 640 hectares.

The explorer said the expansion area includes an inferred 5.5 kilometre pegmatite trend that’s prospective for lithium mineralisation, and, altogether the number of known and inferred pegmatites has now doubled as a result.

“From a strategic perspective, this is an excellent location to make a lithium discovery at an economic scale and grade,” chief executive Patrick Cullen said.



In London, Katoro shares jumped 32% to 0.06p which values the nano-cap firm at around £1.3 million.

Buying price went from 3.4 yesterday to 4.4 now.

The company has assembled a significant portfolio with massive potential;

- Pearl (Lithium): Recently expanded from 880 to 1,475 hectares
- Wapesi Projects (Lithium): Three properties totaling 2,109 hectares
- Oba (Lithium): 1,175 hectares with mapped pegmatite occurrences
- Burrows Projects (Lithium): Three properties totaling 2,400 hectares.

With the Field season expected to begin in late April/early May in Northwest Ontario, we can expect significant short term news and hopefully an even more significant return. In my honest opinion this company is very undervalued!!

Yes there has been dilution here but shareholders can now buy at below the placing price!

Good news today. With Trumps appetite for REE, good to have more acreage to prospect!
I think the new CEO seems to know his onions well.

I also just re read the placing rns and reminded to me that he put in 10k of his own cash too:

"Mr Patrick Cullen, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, has subscribed £10,040 for 20,000,000 Placing Shares as part of the conditional placing. Mr Cullen's subscription constitutes a related party transaction in accordance with AIM Rule 13."
