Stevehoops, the mind boggles at the thought of how many assets KDR have. If anyone reads RNS's from 2014 to now the amount of claims they have been working on is impressive. It really does appear that they are setting up a large portfolio of assets. It looks like they have been keeping a lid on all this. Do you think they will reveal all in one RNS or do you think we will have the drip feed of information?Arctic star have arrived because they now know what's going on in my opinion, they realise where the next major diamond mines will be and they want a piece of the action. Why not.

13 Nov 2014Karelian Diamond Resources plc ("Karelian") (AIM: KDR, ESM: KDRI), the diamond exploration company focused on Finland, is pleased to announce the recovery of high concentrations, for the Karelian Craton, of Kimberlitic Indicator Minerals in basal till samples collected from its Havukkasuo claim area in the Kuhmo region of Finland. Two of the basal till samples each returned over 100 Kimberlitic Indicator Minerals. One of these samples was collected over the known kimberlite body at Havukkasuo. The other was collected approximately 150 metres away from the known kimberlite body and potentially indicates a previously unknown extension of the Havukkasuo kimberlite body. Two further basal till samples collected in the area also returned positive results. Laboratory results from the samples collected included 143 Purple to Red peridotitic garnets (G9/10 Cr-pyrope) and 39 Orange mantle garnets, between 0.25 and 0.5mm in size, plus a further 7 Purple to Red peridotitic garnets (G9/ 10 Cr-pyrope) and 2 Orange mantle garnets, between 0.5 and 1.0mm in size, as well as numerous Chromite grains. G9/10 garnets are considered noteworthy as they are formed at the same temperatures and pressures as diamonds. Orange mantle garnets can include eclogitic pyrope-almandine garnets (G3) and if eclogite mantle materials are present it is significant, as this tends to be associated with richer diamond grades. The garnets will be tested to establish whether eclogite mantle materials are present. The Havukkasuo claim area is located Northwest of Seitaperä where the Company has outlined the largest diamondiferous kimberlite pipe yet discovered in Finland.

30 Oct 2014Karelian Diamond Resources plc ("Karelian") (AIM: KDR, ESM: KDRI), the diamond exploration company focused on Finland, is pleased to announce that TUKES (The Finnish Mining Authority) has granted Karelian three further exploration Claim Reservations. The reservations are located in the Kuhmo and Kuopio-Kaavi regions. The Claim Reservation in the Kuhmo region is up ice from kimberlitic indicator minerals recovered previously by the Company at its Rihiivaara diamond exploration target. Kuopio-Kaavi is situated in Central Finland and is an established diamondiferous region. In both of the Claim Reservations granted in the Kuopio-Kaavi region, diamondiferous kimberlite bodies have been reported. These Claim Reservations were applied for with a view to re-evaluating these known kimberlite bodies and following up on indicator mineral trains. Five kimberlite bodies are known to be present in the Claim Reservation areas. Four of these have had diamonds reported from them by Malmikaivos oy including Kimberlite body 21 with a sample from that kimberlite body giving 128 diamonds of greater than 0.8 mm and also a large single stone of 1.126 ct. Professor Richard Conroy, Chairman commented: "I am delighted that,as part of our ongoing diamond exploration programme in Finland and our re-evaluation of the Kuopio-Kaavi area, we have secured these kimberlite bodies, four of which are known to be diamond bearing."

23 Nov 2015Leaving aside the R Kimberlite, they also mentioned the following in the RNS..........Exploration work is also continuing elsewhere on your Company's other exploration licences in Finland, particularly on those located in the Kuopio Kaavi region, a known diamondiferous area.Kuopio-Kaavi is situated in Central Finland. Five kimberlite bodies are known to be present in the Claim Reservations held by your Company in the area. As part of our re-evaluation of the Kuopio- Kaavi area, we are reassessing these kimberlite bodies, four of which are known to be diamond bearing.????

June
Alan and myself flew from Heathrow to Helsinki and on to kaupio.
We were met at the airport by the Prof and Maureen Jones.
We travelled north for a 1hour to a hotel.
Where we have a meal with Jukka and Kevin, Garth ,Andrew our top geologists.
We went on a day long site visit tour of S, R and L. Plus a n other.
We paid for our flights and accommodation.
No inside knowledge was shared to us.
Our Bod play everything by the book.
Very honest people.
All I can say is Kevin was beaming from ear to ear.
He's face expressions told me all I needed to know.
Worth the expense and travel on its own.
