11/3/2016 07:58 | Couldn't really expect anything better - looks to be a bargain at these levels, though we may still have to wait for the merger to complete and Osborne to confirm he's not mucking about too much more. | cthompso

19/2/2016 20:42 | I wonder what the results will be then next week... I wouldn't be surprised to be surprised on the downside or upside such is my lack of visibility on how they are doing. There's also the unknown of whether a 'big boy' will take advantage of the dragging out of the merger and try and swallow one or both of them now their prices have come back so far.... | scrapheap
15/2/2016 11:39 | It certainly seems to be getting a kicking - I had put that down to the financial sector in general, but you'd have thought it would have been amongst the first to come roaring back given the specialist area it trades in. | cthompso
12/2/2016 13:16 | hmm.... negative news in the offing re the merger perhaps both seem to be struggling? or is it trading? | scrapheap

05/12/2015 13:52 | JR has obtained Solvency Internal Model approval from the PRA (details on PRA web-site). It is one of only 19 UK insurers (life and GI) to get it and at first sight there are a number of big names missing. This could give them a competitive advantage. Partnership is not on the list, but I understand that they weren't applying. This does allow the JR/PA merger to proceed without problems. | 18bt
06/11/2015 11:15 | Pretty strong results from JR yesterday and similar signs of life at PA. Money Marketing reporting that 240 jobs to be saved quickly on the merger, which does look as though it will complete in Dec. Intersting article from Towers Watson on DB De-risking market at: hxxps://www.towerswa The Taylor Wimpey scheme mentioned was done by PA, but this article highlights the opportunities in the market. | 18bt
29/9/2015 08:51 | Or will I!! Just as well it's fully underwritten.... | scrapheap
28/9/2015 08:38 | JRG ex rights now so catches up with PA dilution. | scrapheap
26/9/2015 10:15 | Odd that JR strengthened and PA weakened down to placing price | 18bt |
