portside1....first you misrepresent the dividend yield here and then show you are just a trader with little interest or knowledge about each company you trade in. You then have the cheek to tell investors not to fall in love with a share !

I think most investors will decide what to do with their own money but as you appear to be a trader with little interest in what JIL do... may I suggest you find a board for traders where 'I sold Wednesday and bought rsa at 82p and sold them for 10p rise then bought back barc at 252p' might remotely be of interest to others !

in my opinion the share price will drop to 130p tomorrow

.... and so it happened....

Wouldn't be surprised if the share price creeps up in the new year

some one was very happy to buy
div declared in 2013 27p
-------------------------------------
portside - that is once again a complete misrepresentation of the facts. as per my previous post #317 "During 2013 the Company has paid OR ANNOUNCED a total of 27 pence per share in dividends". That 27p is made up of 13p paid in Jan 2013 (but which was declared in 2012) + a further 14p declared on 19/8/13 + 30/10/13 (but which will be paid in Jan 2014).

for the avoidance of doubt the recent distribution history is as follows:
2012 - 7p (paid 10/2/12)
2013 - 13p (paid 4/1/13)
2014 - 14p (to be paid 15/1/14)

The investment case in JIL stands on its own merits and does not need others to ramp it up. Let's please stick to the facts.

tom - shares held in treasury aren't entitled to dividends (I'm quoting Investopedia:

)

... so the current dividend was certainly non-dilutive as they were transferred xd.

The key calculation is how the shares were taken into treasury in the first place. I think it was when the capital manager was taken in-house, but need to check.

today's Sale will provide additional investment capital - quite so!

Sale of Treasury shares -

Juridica, a leading provider of strategic capital for corporate legal claims to both businesses and the legal markets, is pleased to announce that on 11 December 2013 it sold its entire Treasury holding of 6,126,607 ordinary shares of no par value in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") with the 14 pence per share dividend, (due to be paid on 15 January 2014 to shareholders on the Register at 13 December 2013) at a price of 139p per share (the "Sale").

Following the demonstration of shareholder confidence in the Company by not passing the recent discontinuation vote, the Board of the Company approved the Sale to provide support for the strong pipeline of opportunities to invest in new corporate claim assets.

Commenting on the Sale, Juridica's Chairman, Lord Brennan, said: "We manage a high quality portfolio of corporate legal claims and today's Sale will provide additional investment capital. Our product remains strongly sought after and we face an excellent pipeline of new opportunities."

portside1 - i have been invested throughout 2013 + we have only received 13p/share in dividends (paid 4/1/13). there will be another dividend of 14p/share payable on 15/1/2014. but that does not equate to 27p paid in 2013.

what the company actually said in the rns on 30/10 re the supplementary 4p dividend was "During 2013 the Company has paid OR ANNOUNCED a total of 27 pence per share in dividends". see that is somewhat different to your claim that "it says we paid 27p in 2013".

i also have not seen any mention of JIL implementing an 'interim' dividend (i believe JIL dividends have thus far been classed as special dividends). Again on 30/10 they said "The continued progress and maturity of our portfolio underlines our conviction that we will be able to announce further dividend income to investors next year." Note that they say "announce". Going on previous history + the above statement it is entirely feasible that the next dividend payment will not be until Jan 2015.

i hold JIL + am relatively bullish on their outlook + the prospect for future dividend payments. however i think it would be preferable if we stuck to the facts rather than becoming overly liberal with one's journalistic licence.
