Whilst the acquisition @ 5 x pre tax profit is a great find by DC, the other positive from this, like all the others before it, is the tax credits that come with it.

Net tangible assets of £3m against the purchase price of £8.28m to £9.79m means another £5.28m to £6.79m worth of pre tax profit to amortise over the coming years. If you take this away from the purchase price at say 25% tax rate, the real cost of the acquisition is between £6.96m and £8.09m. That makes it even more of an extroadinary acquisition.

Interesting Hambro has used it as an opportunity to sell 15000? Presumably because up to now was inside information?
That aside looks very cheap and if past is anything to go by will prop up the organic growth.
For what it's worth back in first thing this morning at 1600 given the purchase not being reflected in the price (prev sales at 2000 as posted previously so not sold at top or got in at the bottom but hey ho!)

Fascinating that the share price increases by over 10% after a tip in SCSW and by 5% after an acquisition that adds 25% to operating profit!

Interesting in that it appears (from the shareprice used to determine the earnout) that the deal was agreed in May or June 14. No wonder they were confident on securing a deal in recent statements.

Looks a good deal though approx £2m operating profit at decent margins. Earnout based on last years profits so you'd imagine they are in the bag!

...acquired 100% of the issued share capital of Armfield Limited ("Armfield"), a Hampshire-based instrument maker. Armfield designs and markets engineering equipment and research instruments for educational applications, together with research and development systems focused on the food, beverage, dairy, vegetable oils and pharmaceutical industries.

Another excellent acquisition - well done! Let's see how it benefits us over the next 18 months.
