20/1/2015 12:04 | Decent update today I thought certainly compared to the outlook at the interim stage. Particularly liked the: 'fully able to pursue its acquisition strategy and to continue dividend growth' line. | cockerhoop
12/1/2015 10:35 | CR: All you say is true - as you know I owe U one for your advice when these were back sub £1. (blended exit at over 600% Thanks. (Edited I had missed some of the earlier sales which resulted in an overstated %age - Memo self - Double check figures before postign. but helps to make up for some of the massive losses suffered in the oilers etc. While the fall in the price of oil will I agree should give a signifcant boost to consumer spending power we have the massive uncetainty of the election coming up in the UK plus uncerainty in the Eurozone - plus a slow down in China - The strengthening USD is putting pressure on Asia - I am just feeling nervous so collecting some dry powder - Cookerhoop - Yes re funding and has had a significant affect on share price - Hence my comment re valuation. PRES is an interesting situation which I am watching closely but having difficulty calculating a fair value at the moment. Unless and until some positive news I feel it will continuetot fall with the oil sevices sector so not getting back in yet. 12/1/2015 10:29 | Pugugly, I think the RNS of 23/12/14 is likely to be a prelude to a further acquisition -which of course is part of the companys business model. David C has yet to overpay so as soon as the purchased company is integrated earnings are valued at JDG's rating rather than to price paid adding value. This is also apparent at PRES where sector fears are currently obscuring some shrewd looking acquisitions by John Hayward. | cockerhoop
12/1/2015 10:24 | You don't think the £4bn that's going into the UK economy from a petrol price drop and similar from supermarket wars isn't going to boost the UK retail sector Pug? And it should boost Europe even more imo as they don't tax fuel as highly the percentage drop is greater. And their economies don;'t lose out through lower oil revenues as they don't have much. The lower £ alone should boost the current 2015 forecasts for JDG imo and if they use that borrowing facility to buy strongly earnings enhancing acquisitions then that will boost them even more imo. 90p eps for this year could see significant hikes if so imo. A stock that has comfortably traded on PE's into the 20's in the past. All imo/dyor etc. CR | cockneyrebel
12/1/2015 10:09 | Class act - not at all surprised these are up nicely today. Acquisitions bought with 'cash' - that's the right way to do it rather than diluting with loads of shares imo. Had my eye on these to buy back in as soon as the £ started retreating and glad to have got back in a few weeks ago on a chart low. Was a nice ride from £1 last time I was holding :-) All imo/dyor etc. CR | cockneyrebel
12/1/2015 09:53 | Pugugly, I'm interested that you have sold today...........you appeared to have had negative views on the company when the share price was approx £12.50 suggesting that it would go lower (from memory below £10.00) so i'm intrigued that you didn't sell then if holding at that point and if you were buying it doesn't really fit with your posts. Perhaps you could explain? | cockerhoop
12/1/2015 09:09 | cornishman33 - May I thank you ofr your info - I could not work out why the rise thisi morning - Gave me an opportunity to sell - A great company however but (imo) now fully priced unless DC pulls of a good acquisition. | pugugly
10/1/2015 12:51 | MM80 I take your point and will be slower to make general comments in future, but I have not posted any new information regarding those shares. Both have been tipped many times over the last few years. | cornishman33
10/1/2015 12:33 | I do wish subscribers of SCSW would stop posting details of tips/growth portfolios before subscribers have the chance to act. | moneymaker80
10/1/2015 11:35 | SCSW have started a new portfolio this month and JDG is their first purchase (along with OPAY). The previous portfolio rose about 1200% over 13 years, so I will be following with interest. I already have both these stocks so I hope the good performance continues. I am aware that sometimes the share price has already risen a bit before they announce their purchase, making it difficult to buy at the price quoted, but I think that counter that they ignore divi income, and in the previous portfolio a few of the shares produced very good divi returns, like PHTM. | cornishman33
28/12/2014 11:58 | I found the reaction to news of the new facilities interesting......... | cockerhoop
28/12/2014 11:44 | Agree - raising that cash facility is interesting tho - acquisitions here have been extremely earnings enhancing in the past CR | cockneyrebel

24/12/2014 08:22 | So debt down to £11.3m from £13.4m in June and DC appears to have an acquisition on the radar. | cockerhoop
27/10/2014 16:07 | re #1670 - this issue of the order book shortfall was discussed at some length when DC paid another visit to Mello Beckenham, on 20th October. It is likely to impact H2 sales, as the order book cannot be run down indefinitely. That is the reason for the broker forecast downgrades, which reflect this impact. As previously mentioned on this thread, a weakening of sterling and an easing of public sector spending constraints in the US and China are key - but, conversely, there is a threat from a possible spending slowdown in Europe. Cheers, Mark | marben100
24/10/2014 16:52 | Looks like institutional cross trades going through at 1160p - Interesting - | pugugly

24/10/2014 07:58 | Hi Fugwit, No I am not going, albeit most of the companies I have shares in will be there. Best wishes, Martin | shanklin
24/10/2014 07:56 | Morning Shanklin, Are you heading up to Mello? | fugwit
24/10/2014 07:55 | There's an excellent new post here | shanklin
24/10/2014 07:44 | Shanklin: _ Not exactly comparable but the exchange rate hit will probably apply to Judges as well - Also seems to mirror our last rns that markets were showing signs of softness. | pugugly
24/10/2014 07:24 | Is there read-across from today's SXS trading statement or are the businesses not comparable? | shanklin
15/10/2014 07:58 | Not currently holding JDG but, in terms of acquisitions, I would hope in terms of shareholder value that anything they do now would be financed by loans not the issue of shares at below the current share price As I see it, we do not really know what is going on with JDG as the longer term impact of the order book being at less than budgeted levels is rather opaque. Perhaps those who see the broker coverage have a better feel for the impact of this... ...and of how long this reduced order profile is likely to last. All IMHO, DYOR. Cheers, Martin | shanklin |
