Back in 2004 the Mufulira smelter used to process 400,000 tonnes of copper concentrate pa. Not a typo. lol.

Under the Agreement Jubilee is able to accelerate the implementation of its Zambian copper strategy at significantly reduced capital and project risk with the potential of increasing its production rates to utilise the available refining capacity.

So 17,000 tons didn't sound that huge to me but potential to increase production is interesting. Anyone know the scale of the facility compared to Kabwe

I wonder when Leon will reveal the details of the 'extra' Mufulira tailings, that could be interesting.

Referenced in passing, as though it wasn't significant ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Too many people trying to be clever without having the detail needed. And to entirely disregard the growth potential in conjuring a party pooping post surely misses the point of what drives the price. And why pray should the P/E ratio remain the same as that potential is revealed...? Nonsense.

Pretty much done that Bull. Family and friends thought I was nuts. Staring down the barrel at 2p, so did I.

Jubilee have definitely moved into Zambia now and become a favoured player. I think we will eventually look back on this dip and wonder why we do not release equity in our houses and go all in. PLEASE - that is not investment advice

Sorry but if you can't proof read what you post - then credibility goes out of the window.

One assumes there was a decimal point missing - LOL

Next year this will be a completely different animal, just need to wait for the metals to reflect the disconnect between supply and demand- things are only just getting started.

Copper will be the new gold,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

EPS of 58p!-don’t think that is correct-on a p/e of 7 this would give a share price of circa £4! which would be excellent-maybe in 10 years time but not now

Part of the recent share price problem has been to keep the p/e in line with year to 30/6/2020.
The profit after tax was shown in the audited accounts to 30/06/2020 as just over 18m and the EPS as 93p. However the 18m was arrived at by including a tax credit of over 4m so the pretax profit was 15m off which there should have been a tax charge of 3.75m. This would have produced an EPS of 58p.
In the year to 30.6.21 even if the pretax profit increases proportionally to the turnover if a full years tax charge is deducted this infers practically no increase in the EPS. The year to 30/06/2022 is looking to be similar in profit terms to 2021. The upshot is that I am not getting too excited about a large rise in the share price in the near future although maybe 22p by Christmas.
How's that for a party pooper!

So removes the need for one of the concentrator builds planned for the Kitwe area. Saving time and money, and bringing revenue generation forward.

"Jubilee CEO Leon Coetzer commented: ‘The agreement will see Jubilee refurbish and expand some of Mopani's processing facilities currently not in use and removes the need to build a new processing facility to process the nearby tailings deposits we secured last year."

Fantastic, quality RNS.

Would it be right that Mufulira is owned by Mopani and therefore ZCCM? If so, there's more delicate negotiations ahead - ZCCM will want to profit from it's tailings being used first (Elephant, Mufulira) and JLP will want to process Lechwe first as planned.

It seems that JLP has already managed to negotiate Lechwe tailings to have priority over Elephant (Elephant being adjacent to the refinary). Hopefully that will last!

Looks to be an intraday battle for supremacy at this level. Hopefully resistance will be broken to the upside.
