When using indicators you have to look at longer periods. At least two/three months on a daily will give a better indication of a possible trend. As for the MACD, you draw a trendline as you will usually do on the share price This time you will connect either the tops or bottoms of the MACD, to id a trend. Now if this MACD-trendline is moving say upwards and the normal sp-trendline is down trending, its considered to be converging.

Shall we call it the signal line then or divergence?Last tuesday was a new higher low day though too.Hence why i posted the link my grasp of terminology isn't the best even if i know what a pretty pattern looks like :-P

But then again, you can draw any line on historical prices and interpret it the way you want to...lol. I am not a fan of technical analysis, although it keeps me busy while watching the screens....

The MACD, already representing the effective sum of 2 MA, gives you a better view/interpretation of divergence or convergence, when compared with the actual share price

Yes plat, but convergence is normally "defined" as a line drawn from lower lows on the share price (thus trending downward) but the MACD is in a rising pattern. This rising MACD is very clear on the JBL weekly chart.
