Time for that BBUS Yearly Report 2023. Unfortunately it will be the last as l've decided to hang up my boots. Still a few days left but unlikely much will change so here goes. I'm pleased to say I've finished the year at +0.5% in what has been a turnaround year from a high of +9% to a low of -8.2%. I was fortunate to have several takeovers and tenders during the year with ROL set to return 85% and FIF which was bought on the cheaper side returning 20%.
On the down side a few stocks delisting with HDT tendered at 43p for a 40% loss in the year.
Top performance came from HVO at 125% followed by NBB at +85%. Worst performance came from TEK-66% and GTC-60%. The portfolio returned a yield of 3.47% the highest since I started investing mainly due to my top holding ORCH yielding 7.7%. The best returns in monetary terms came from MSI which is my number two position and will likely prove a winner in 2024 and beyond.
I want to thank everyone I've interacted with over the years, there's just too many to mention. It's been for the most part an invaluable experience in terms of friendships learning and ££££ returns. I've shared some fantastic winners and of course a few dogs along the way.
I sincerely wish everyone good health and fortunes in 2024.

On first glance interims at Goodwin seem good with a 23% increase in PTP and a healthy order book.

After yesterday’s exuberance I’ve been brought back down with a sucker punch from GTC. Up 20% yesterday and down 27% today. Thankfully I still finished the week up 2.3% giving the portfolio a positive YTD of 0.3%. Winners this week include MSI DRV CAU QRT HVO COM NBB and ORCH.🎄

Agree with the positive vibes re: HVO. Looks like more to come there, although disappointed with only a 9.5% increase yesterday after the news. January news should help move it up further I would hope. With luck more shorts will close and we have a very small dividend flagged for later in the year.

Also agree with AISHAH re: KR1. If the crypto scene takes off next year with the halving, and ETF release as many seem to think, it could be a stellar year for that asset class. If only the world lacked the wars it would be an even nicer time to watch what unfolds in the markets.

DRV results show return to profit. While it won’t set the world on fire 🔥 I’m taking them as a stepping stone to future profits and with cash generated increasing the cash pile by 0.9 million to 5.8 million we should see some cash returned to shareholders at some point.
Returns to profitability with underlying O/P of £1 million
Revs down slightly due to restructuring
Dividend maintained 1.5p for year
Positive outlook for 24
Cash £5.8 million or 11p

Agreed bb2. It's another asset class and not everyone's cup of tea. Keep investing where you're comfortable with. Lots of scams in the crypto space but I'm happy to let KR1 use their expertise in the space.

I have an exit plan of cashing in over £500k in my investment in KR1 having invested less than £10k in 2017. Current NAV around £170m. They are simply the best crypto asset manager in the world imo.
