I bought in today oilies seem to be making a profit now so spending on infrastructure and support should increase.We may have seen the worst and any positive news could see the shorts closing out. Maybe one last dip lower before a turn.

I've been wondering about that too Wantage, the shorts have been rising sharply over the last few weeks. The accounts are diffficult to read but not indecipherable. Cash is the key focus for hedgies and it's definitely under pressure here with debt rising. I need to go back and analyse the accounts again but I don't, currently, see wood group as a basket case, unlike say Telit group for example!

Pennycae - I'm tempted to get in, hold AMFW and well under water on them. Once the takeover complete there should be considerable synergies and cost savings and hopefully no more of this 'shorting' rubbish haha.

Yes, could be a "special situation" developing here. Still hammering WG. Values AMFW proportionately higher, but at these prices, not by much.
Millions being made here.

Would seem AMFW better buy than WG. as price proportional to WG, x0.75 with a small discount too. WG may be turning up even with 12% short. Short covering to come?

Morning all.
Bought a few of these this morning to sit alongside PFC. Intend to add, either on further downside, or buy into any sustained rise.
Shorters and algos..........
AQR increasing again, just before the SFO announcements. Makes you think, doesn't it?

LK, in terms of Unaoil and Wood Group, there is an ongoing internal investigation
by WG. as you may be aware.
So it's a case of what that finds(if anything) when complete, or if the SFO want to
investigate directly.

It is a risk factor which investors need to be aware of,
and was spelt out in detail in the prospectus published last week re the AMFW
takeover proposal. The prospectus is on the WG. investors site.

I tend to err on the cautious side, it's cost me over the years tbh
as usually underestimate share price upside. Sold HSTN too soon recently.
