very interesting thanks for that on THG. I notice the RNS does not indicate a bid price. Could be the same as here low bid then increase it a little to satisfy honour.

The incompetence of management is the same across the sector EPCs always buy other EPCs when the market is high, Apollo who are business people clearly know a bargain. If you want to compare SPs 6 years ago Saipem was nearly 13 euros now its 1.49 euros a share. The market is at the bottom all EPCs are bombed out WG management did the same as others did before them. Something to remember about the sector when we do go back up any EPC buying another is a bad deal lol, mind you there will only be one EPC left on UK stock market when WG go and I am not that sure I want to buy PFC shares again for a variety of reasons.

Watson and Stewart utterly incompetent
Should be seen in court with the money they took

So looks like Wood being taken over for circa 1.6Billion was it only 6 years ago that Wood acquired AFW for 2.3Billion and the Wood Group was valued at 4Billion. The incompetence of Robin Watson et al is there for all to see.

Stuck at 227. Not sure what to do. Might just sell and move on as have other targets that might do better than waiting for the extra 13 pennies.

My ave buy price is 165p. Bought in last year as I thoughtIt was very undervalued. I had a target price of 400p. The market does not agree with me and the current bidders are getting a great company on the cheap. Given the market won't agree my valuation I will happily now accept c. 240 p and put the money elsewhere. Since the bids started I have always felt it would be taken out at 245p level. Let's see what happens tomorrow, best of luck to all holders

I would guess WP would have to be talking to someone to get the finance to buy WG and people may let slip that they have been asked about funding to a mate in another bank. People are involved so word could leak out anywhere and people in the know would buy a few shares I suggest hence the rumors would start. All purely speculative from me but word of deals always slip out that's where we started here with the price rising at WG and they had to hastily send out an RNS about the bid approach from Apollo.

Who knows re the RNS my view is there will be confirmation of acceptance off the bid but when I dont know. I was only saying to the last poster that I would not expect it to open tomorrow at 240p even if there was an acceptance of the bid due to the time/money value. Everything is panning out as I expected but still not over the line so could still be wrong. I have no confidence in a white knight, time is too short for them to appear from nowhere the share price here would have already been a lot higher if there was even a whiff of an alternative bid in my view.

pogue:Agreed.RNS at 07.00hrs tomorrow?

Weaverbeever: Mutterings/rumours persist of a bid from Worley 'once the smoke clears regarding Appollo'. Worley are actively acquisitive and WG is said to be 'a good fit'.

What's the chances of a higher bidder?

Only benefit of continuing to hold is if another bidder tops it

It won’t open at 240 though there is always a penny or so below the price to factor in the time cost of money even if the deal is confirmed.

Ok. So let's say the price opens at 240 or close tomorrow. If that's as high as its going to go, is this the time to sell? Why would anyone hold longer? What would be the benefit of holding longer?
