22/9/2009 11:26 | 3 year chart indicated double top - couldn't break through 600 | letsgetbizzay
22/9/2009 11:11 | Been a holder for a year now, but sold mine today (oddly not gone through) - steam seems to have come out of the lfls and on an ev/ebitda basis it is no longer looking a raging buy. Good luck to remaining holders. | touch2002
22/9/2009 08:31 | Pushed back down :( spread first thing was ridiculous, perhaps they were trying to discourage buying. I suspect this will finish a lot higher... | letsgetbizzay
22/9/2009 08:09 | breaking out to an all time high here. CR | cockneyrebel
22/9/2009 07:44 | 0640 GMT [Dow Jones] JD Sports Fashion's (JD.LN) 1H earnings report comes in ahead of expectations, with revenue increased by 8.4% and by 0.7% on a like-for-like basis, says an analyst. Thinks the dividend increase by 6.5% to 3.30p is encouraging. "The company has reaffirmed full year targets which should reassure the market," he adds. Shares closed at 600p Monday. 18/9/2009 19:35 | Obviously not a popularly held stock, but I took a punt on these at the beginning of the month and have been pleasantly surprised. Now up 70p since my purchase. With the interims out on Tuesday I'm hoping for some more positive action. | cornishman33
18/9/2009 13:17 | Well results Tues, 7 brokers covering, all saying buy. CR | cockneyrebel
12/9/2009 21:00 | Yes, plenty to go from here with EPS forecasts of 78 for 2009 and 83 for 2010, should get to 700p I would have thought. They look like they've played a blinder making acquisitions in the depths of the recession. | daz
12/9/2009 11:37 | Given a 'Keep Buying' in SCSW today again. CR | cockneyrebel
10/9/2009 13:39 | Soprst Direct and JJD bein ginvestingated by the SFO re competion: "LONDON (Dow Jones)--The U.K.'s Serious Fraud Office is investigating the activities of sportswear retailers JJB Sports PLC (JJB.LN) and Sports Direct International PLC (SPD.LN) following a referral from the U.K.'s consumer watchdog. "The SFO can confirm it is investigating the activities of JJB Sports and Sports Direct International. "The investigation is into suspected offences under the Fraud Act and the Enterprise Act," the SFO said in an e-mailed statement Thursday. JJB Sports earlier said it sought immunity from the Office of Fair Trading, which is conducting a probe into the U.K. sports retail sector, in exchange for its co-operation into alleged cartel activity in the sector. At 1109 GMT, shares in JJB were down 5.75 pence or 15% at 33 pence, while Sports Direct shares were down 11.1 pence or 8.5% at 119 pence, in a broadly higher London market." If these two have been stitching up the market then it looks like JD. have a lot to gain by them being stopped and done by the SFO perhaps. CR | cockneyrebel
10/9/2009 10:27 | Been busy this morning adding a few, looks a possibility for a run ahead of the interims | cwa1
09/9/2009 23:56 | England through to World Cup = a shed load of shirt sales = share price rise in the morning? | stegrego
09/9/2009 16:47 | I'm sure Pentland would have a price. CR | cockneyrebel
09/9/2009 16:43 | is JD another American Apparell? Pentland shareholding looks likely blocker to any t/over. | honiton
09/9/2009 12:00 | Every little counts :-) Many thanks. | cwa1
09/9/2009 11:23 | about £10m - on the balance sheet @ £2m. It all helps :-) CR | cockneyrebel
09/9/2009 11:21 | What's the value of JJB to JD. at, say, 40p IF you have it to hand please? If not to hand please don't worry, I'll soon ferret it out :-) | cwa1
09/9/2009 11:13 | Yes CWA - JD. own 10% of JJB too - on the books at 8p a share - the stock is up 17% today @ 41p. All helping to boost the balance sheet :-) CR | cockneyrebel
09/9/2009 08:04 | Pretty confident statement from Sportsdirect this morning:- Hopefully a sign of good things to come from JD. | cwa1
08/9/2009 10:53 | Welcome CWA :-) These look screaming cheap imo. Take a look at the PE on Sports Direct - around 11.5 compared to JD's PE of 7. Then look at the debt - virtually no debt here but Sports direct has nearly £430m in debt! JD. should be double this price on a comparible basis and the growth at JD. is miles higher than Sports Direct (if Sports Direct does have growth?) CR | cockneyrebel |
