Are we expecting a February trading statement? |
@CT Order filled? |
I have to agree it looks pretty grim for ukplc. And a lot of uk money is also finding its way to the US.
And if Reeves has to raise more taxes......

Melody, yes min wage is increasing but it needs to, that's not keeping up with price increases. Rents and rates, water, gas, electric not to mention food and clothes to name a few. The chancellor's budget will continue to be passed on that will effect even middle class never mind those on min wage. I thing there will be less disposable income not more all round. Inflation isnt falling if anything its rising or will be when all have put up prices to cover their increases to treasury. It's going to be tough around. |
Chavi - min wages increased, public sector pay increased. Inflation falling. Cost of living increases also stabilising. More disposable income?
Some of the points you make are also valid....I'm just creating a balance.
"I honestly think 2025 will be the last year for many years companies like this will do well." Absolutely disagree - people will sacrifice many things - but not their holidays! |
10% fall that gives us multiple chances of taking that % I have no concerns over jet2. 50% chance of seeing £20 this year. Downside is now £15 Its just noise |
No sir, you are. It's now dawned on the working man he stupidly put Labour in who always in the end make the working man pay and is making him pay again. It is plain to see they are going to cause a recession, job insecurity, inflation, and possibly a rise in interest rates. Something will have to give and things will have to go, like over priced holidays. I honestly think 2025 will be the last year for many years companies like this will do well. People will just not be able to afford holidays never mind over priced ones. I do hope I'm wrong but dont think so. |
You're missing the point I was making. The macro issues were present Mid Dec'24 (SP 1650) and are still present now(SP 1510). Nothing has changed in 3 weeks. |
You've got your head in the sand if you can't see the macro picture. |
The price drop since Mid Dec'24 is ridiculous and is caused by the markets playing games again! Nothing has changed with the economy or the Jet2 forecast for the year ahead since Mid Dec'24. Fuel is hedged and bookings are at record highs. I find it incredible just how quickly sentiment changes on this forum based purely upon a temporary price drop caused by the markets wanted to push it lower so they can make more money the second time around. |
i am a buyer at 1500 order placed |
RSI at 20 and a hammer bottom candle. Looks set for a bounce. Pity the FTSE futures are currently -34 though. |
Look out below |
For me there are 2 down sides here. 1. Recession. 2. They have got greedy and charging far to much which the punters have noticed. Same holidays can be got hundreds of pounds cheaper elsewhere. People will be looking elsewhere as recession bites. I think it will be a problem filling and paying for those new planes. |
Tenerife Runway blocked by business jet, had to be towed off.Last 757 flight this Sunday. |
Quite possible. Lots of disruption at Tenerife tonight. Best to happen in January rather than July. |
Recession looming.. |
Now on a PE of 6. Absolutely ridiculous for a company of this quality. Time to leave Aim now Reeves has nullified the tax benefits. |
25% up for 2024, but price still looks dislocated from reality given how good the balance sheet is with a very undemanding PE ratio, strong brand and demand that is less cyclical than it used to be.
Maybe we can get to £20 in 2025, which still doesn’t look demanding from a valuation point of view. |
Jet2holidays and sister airline Jet2.com have reported a spike in bookings over the festive period, including an increase in sales made on Christmas Day. |
Bournemouth base now launching 4 Feb instead of April, maybe bookings exceeding expectations? |
