09/10/2017 07:07 | Side track rns out. We've hit oil! Massive rerate back to £2?Jersey Oil and Gas plc("Jersey Oil & Gas", "JOG" or the"Company") Oil Discovery at Verbier Sidetrack Well 20/05b-13Z Jersey Oil & Gas (AIM: JOG), an independent upstream oil and gas company ?focused on the UK Continental Shelf ("UKCS") region of the North Sea, is pleased to announce an oil discovery in the Verbier sidetrack well, 20/05b-13Z. The well has been drilled safely and within budget to the planned total depth of 3811m and a suite of log data has been acquired via Logging While Drilling ("LWD"), including pressure data. Preliminary analysis indicates:· The well has proven a hydrocarbon accumulation in good quality sands, up dip of the water bearing sands encountered in the initial well· Evaluation of the well results, together with the existing 3D seismic data is ongoing· Initial Operator estimates of gross recoverable resources associated with the Verbier discovery are between 25 and 130 million barrels of oil equivalent, with a minimum proven recoverable volume in the immediate vicinity of the wellbore of 25 million barrels of oil equivalent In addition to confirming the presence of oil in the Verbier prospect, this discovery provides valuable information to help better understand the prospectivity of the licence area, which includes the Cortina prospect and the Meribel lead. JOG holds an 18% working interest in the licence. Andrew Benitz, CEO of Jersey Oil & Gas, commented:"We are delighted by the positive outcome of the Verbier sidetrack. The well has achieved its objective by encountering good quality, hydrocarbon-bearing sands, up dip from the initial well with the results exceeding pre drill expectations for the sidetrack."Jenny Morris, Vice President for Exploration in the UK of Statoil, commented:"The results show that we made the right decision to sidetrack the well and this discovery proves that there could be significant remaining potential in this mature basin... we are convinced of the remaining, high-value potential on the UK continental shelf and the Verbier result certainly gives us the confidence and determination to continue our exploration efforts." | easwarareddy
08/10/2017 21:27 | George when the company has no.money or assets one duff well does break the company the size of jog . If you are heavily invested here you are even more stupid than you sound as this was at best a little gamble rather than an investment . The sidetrack the company has already said is looking for a much smaller reservoir than the previous drill so the value and commercialize of it also become far less likely . To statoil it's nothing major but to jog it's all or nothing in reality with the odds and payback on the gamble much worse than before | bones698

08/10/2017 07:57 | Both tugs now set off, Olympic Pegasus at least for the TO Spitsbergen, although it is at the moment out of range. To the east of the drill site a large group of fishing boats, a rich spot for some at least! | rogerlin
07/10/2017 08:13 | Olympic Pegasus has in fact gone to Slovag, north of Bergen and the Siem Opal also heading there, still not set out for Verbier therefore. | rogerlin
06/10/2017 17:45 | Ha ha...you couldn't afford to cover it! 💷💷 | georgie pie
06/10/2017 16:57 | georgie pie i would be delighted to short-sell you the shares you like to buy! clearly heading for 20p or less. | baner
06/10/2017 15:51 | Georgepie well they didn't do so well in the first drill did they you tit. So yes I'm happy with my knowledge of the area and it's risks . If I were holding I would be very worried as the share price has been falling more and more whilst this drill has been going on and it's likely failure will see trap drop another 65% or more to where this share should be in the early twenties . | bones698
06/10/2017 13:53 | falling knife to be avoided - 20p next stop. if that. | baner
06/10/2017 11:59 | The Pegasus setting out from Stavanger but Marine Traffic has it going to Skaalevik which seems to be near Kristiansand. | rogerlin
06/10/2017 07:49 | No announcement this morning and not now likely till Monday, Olympic Pegasus and Siem Opal still in Stavanger and Bergen respectively, a little more time in this and hope springs eternal! | rogerlin
05/10/2017 21:00 | Many thanks for such a comprehensive reply | mesquida
05/10/2017 20:50 | "Drilling of the 20/05b-13Z sidetrack exploration well is expected to take between 25 to 35 days". Started 18th Sept, so 17 days to today, P&A will take a week from the time tugs listed (or longer) so just about got to the 25 days, you would expect it to be fairly quick as the upper part of the well already done, so could still be a success but longer would be better IMHO. | rogerlin
05/10/2017 18:20 | Does an early move suggest bad news? | mesquida
05/10/2017 17:42 | So Statoil know nothing bones...you have more knowledge in the area than they do? Wow please let me know if you are personally going drilling and Il chuck 100k your way.👍 | georgie pie
05/10/2017 17:07 | Olympic Pegasus and Boa Jarl listed to move the TO Spitsbergen. We will hear news soon. | rogerlin
03/10/2017 14:39 | George I'm sorry but that's total rubbish it dripped to 35p on the day of the news which in reality is where this belongs now even with the sidetrack imo. The sidetrack is a last ditch attempt to salvage something from the disaster but even if they hit it will be a fraction of the previous resource estimates and in my opinion uneconomical to develop. Anyone with knowledge of the area would have known the risks prior to the last drill and now . Please note who said this previously !!!! The company has about 1.5m in cash and nothing else in asset of note so please tell me why you think it should be valued at 4 times that in mkt cap currently . Spurious comment by an Ill educated gambler tbh. This is worth 20p at best | bones698
01/10/2017 12:37 | We were at 60p before the side track was confirmed so il be surprised if we drop much more .... Nothing is priced in at present IMHO....the drop from 230 to here covers more than everything. | georgie pie |
