I think burial called it right. JOG is going nowhere for the foreseeable. I'd rather bet on nags at Cheltenham.

incisive and well-researched post there, burial. Congratulations.

Can you tell us what will happen to the 100m+ barrels of discovered oil JOG owns in the GBA (mainly Buchan and J2)? Will that have a 'nil' value (or maybe even a minus one) because the oil price is going to stay in the $30s or below forever? It won't only be JOG going bust if it does - then there's the small matter of the world being unable to function as a result.

Rubbish. Buchan won't happen unless the oil price explodes higher. Simple as that. And JOG's money may well have run out before then. They're trying to get a partner in. Who's gone pay for that privilege? Right...nobody. What you're looking at here is another Sealion. Going nowhere and likely taking JIG down. But they'll spend all your money on the way.

The big decline in the share price has nothing to do with the company it's purely down to Coronavirus and Oil prices

5 positive things from the situation today:

Firstly the oil price got to where it needed to go quickly. Blessing.

Secondly cap-ex will deteriorate in the sector with current de-risked projects taking priority over fancy new wildcatting.

Thirdly local supplies of oil (of anything) will see some priority in the future.

Fourthly the world will be more hygienic going forward both in food consumption and how to behave with a cold or flu.

Lastly the Covid 19 situation in China appears to be much better and lets hope a second strain does not arise. The world will take comfort from that insight.

Just to say also

Footfall in Regent Street yesterday was very slow to take off but then got up to circa 70% of normal levels despite highest levels of Covid in the country.

The sole cause of the spread (travelling) seems to be being targeted. Well done Italy for finally taking the bull by the horns. Will be faster next time.

I have yet to see people sneezing or coughing on public transport but utter idiots still exist sadly and go to work with symptoms of cold or flu which is "old style naivety". Very very few wearing masks.

Cannot see Griffiths off loading anymore at this price and there comes a point where a stock is in bargain territoryMight see 65p it's a tough call but make no mistake load up here and you will be rewarded handsomly in 4yrs - 5yrs This is where investors make so much money taking advantage of a world crisis

You need to split your oil portfolio into sections :

A/ Need funding now/shortly - screwed - panic mode.

B/ High debt levels - screwed - panic mode.

C/ Generating loads of cash with no/minimal debt - ok - grin and bear it - wait for new OPEC+deal news.

D/ Exploration with no debt and no funding needs - ok - grin and bear it - wait for new OPEC+deal news.

JOG falls into Cat A now.
