18/12/2024 19:32 | Yes, I think we have all made unwise investments from time to time and, in a rising market, extended settlement does offer rare opportunities to take quick profits by closing before the settlement due date. However the risk of punts going sour requires the need to either close at a loss and settle the difference, or settle in full and hope the shares recover in time. Failing to settle unfortunately comes with penalties and, in the final analysis, if caught swimming naked, those costs will be taken from whatever one has in the account. I don't think one can blame the execution only broker for one's own financial decisions. | steelwatch
18/12/2024 16:29 | Hey Guys, Anyone on here dealing with Jarvis on T20 I lost money big time when Jarvis allowed me more credit then they should have but they were happy as they were making lots of money on commission and Late charges and high interest rates but when the crash came last year lost money big time they cleared my whole portfolio on charges Would be interesting to see if anyone else had similar experiences if so please let's join forces and complain. Thanks | bigwadds
18/12/2024 08:57 | Yep. Having seen the silent majority post yesterday I just thought I would pose the question...... I don't expect a reply from any of them. Good luck to you bmcollins as least you have had the gumption to be proactive. | tenapen
18/12/2024 08:51 | @tenapen I agree with your point 100% but my caveat is that an unexpected RNS at Christmas is usually very bad news ! | bmcollins
18/12/2024 07:30 | While the board is being visited by the silent majority I would like to pose this though........Includ | tenapen

09/12/2024 18:39 | Well done bmcollins for being proactive - You got a reply ! so a success:-) There is still a chance of this saga ending in Q4 so I will wait before sending out more emails to the FCA & Jarvis. ----- - 8th August 2024 As announced on 27 June 2024, Jarvis continues to work through the skilled person recommendations and is creating an additional remediation plan to address the points arising from the report. Phase 2, which requires the Skilled Person to review the remediation work undertaken by JIML on the matters raised in any of the three s.166 reports, has now commenced and is expected to be completed by Q4 2024. ---- the key word 'expected' ---- We will see. | tenapen
09/12/2024 15:03 | @tenapen I wrote to the CFO asking why the enormous delay and received a reply last week,he said nothing, in a nutshell, so I got nowhere. If anyone wishes to follow up the email is ; kieran.price@jarvisi A few more prods could at least make him think that a few of us do have a keen interest in avoiding the current mushroom culture that the board are giving us... | bmcollins
08/12/2024 10:42 | It could do steelwatch ! But Grant and Jarvis have never been ones for talking to investors. This "radio silence" is fine when things are good.... not so when your investment goes bad. | tenapen
04/12/2024 19:50 | Probably no connection at all, but if it is, could explain the radio silence: | steelwatch
03/12/2024 02:48 | Hahaha - thug returns when there is a criticism of Jervis management ..... which one is he ? 6-8 weeks ! Or was Grants / Jarvis original estimate for the length of the FCA investigation ? It's been so long I forget. | tenapen
01/12/2024 21:17 | Unless there's something to be actually discussed. Why bother is my personal view. Wasting people's valuable time seems to have become a national pastime. No great surprise that productivity as a consequence is in decline. Not least when people expect an answer to a question such is how long is a piece of string. | thrugelmir
01/12/2024 14:43 | Hi John, I did complain to the FCA about the time it was taking and questioned if the slow rolling was just a plot to extract maximum charges from Jarvis. To their credit they did reply to my email, without answering my points. More than can be said about Jarvis when I have emailed them, asking if they are being proactive or just happy to go along .... Anyway thug as dropped off the thread after joining it two hours after the fateful RNS dropped and defended the company at every opportunity. Maybe a sign the end to this saga is in sight !. | tenapen
30/11/2024 11:24 | Melton/Tenapen I totally agree, it has been worse than a shambles, it appears to be utter & total incompetence by the regulator who failed on a real issue, ie the Woodward saga. | bmcollins
30/11/2024 11:09 | That's very interesting tenapen Maybe someone will complain to the Financial Ombudsman. | melton john
30/11/2024 05:46 | "NOT FAIR" 25 months and counting to investigation and make changes to a two- but broker is borderline incompetence from what we have seen. | tenapen
27/11/2024 21:00 | I have a Halifax account which I use for funds because they don't have custody charges. I received a notification that they are amending their terms and conditions. The Halifax email summary of Section 9 says (in part): "Section 9 – Holding investments and cash in your account - We don’t pay interest on money held in your account. - Any interest we keep helps to develop our products and services." I thought this was interesting because 1) this actually isn't new (it's in their existing terms and conditions) and 2) having gone through an update to their policy, despite all the pressure from the regulator, they've decided not to change it. I'm not aware of other brokers/custodians who have reached a similar conclusion but I also haven't looked for that information. Hopefully this will mean that Jarvis will still be able to retain some portion of the interest payment. Halifax is retaining all of it. | gsbmba99
27/11/2024 16:26 | @tenapen I have had my account with them for about 10 years and have been well looked after, very much most of the time. I too was stupid enough to believe there original timescale ! | bmcollins
27/11/2024 16:18 | Hi bmcollins, On the broader point I wished I had sold on the fateful RNS. But I believe the timescales they quoted 6-8 weeks. Now we are 25 months on and I will be very surprised if this in concluded before the end of December = Q4. We will see before I start sending out Email complaints to the FCA and Jarvis. I'm glad you have had good service from the telephone staff ..... mine not so good, hopefully going to be better. Regards. | tenapen
27/11/2024 15:39 | @tena I have almost always had excellent service from them, which is why I got involved with holding their stock originally, and then failing to sell it all after the FCA bombshell as I felt that they would bounce back up. Sadly we are still waiting for the dead cat to show up ! | bmcollins |
