14/9/2021 12:34 | Thanks flirtashia, I expect to have trouble with my blue sky stocks if I ever decide to sell, but rcdo ! They lost themselves two trades as I couldn't sell so couldn't buy some more blue sky. Regards. | tenapen
14/9/2021 12:11 | tenapen- RCDO- EMS is 1000 shares- try selling smaller amounts in the first instance. The trouble with online only brokers is they aren't obliged to give you an electronic quote, even if its below the EMS. X-O wont accept telephone orders (where they are obliged to offer a quote if its below the EMS)at all. Have this problem frequently with them so I'm trying to direct purchases of my large cap liquid stocks into X-O and use other brokers (which offer a telephone service) for the less liquid stocks. Jarvis do offer a telephone dealing account too but I didnt like the looks of it. | firtashia
14/9/2021 11:45 | How can it not be possible to be able to sell a 'blue chip' company RICARDO = 1550 shares ? Becoming sick of Jarvis :-/ The market are unable to offer an electronic quote, therefore please place a limit order using pounds rather than pence e.g. 53p = 0.53. This will be forwarded to the dealing desk and dealt on a best endeavours basis. Err: 323 | tenapen
09/9/2021 09:50 | Dividend in my account already this morning. Can look forward to the next one now due December. Does come round quick doesn't it! | cfro
06/9/2021 16:59 | It's always a positive when poster(s) join a thread a try to spin a negative. :-) | tenapen
06/9/2021 16:16 | Will they do ISA's? X-O are very competitive and I know lots of people who use them. Why do you think Paypal would put them under pressure. Would I get my money back if there's a problem? lol | melton john
06/9/2021 09:46 | With Paypal set to compete with Robin Hood ,the share traders are under pressure (X-o) | petewy
02/9/2021 18:28 | Cheers. They were fun days. Fortunately I found a few good ones that have served me very well - Jarvis being one of them. All the best | the big fella
02/9/2021 16:55 | I'm Good, thank you, hope your in good health also. I really enjoyed the ofex shares and the banter on the unquoted forum. I lost more money than I made but learned a lot by the mistakes. I still make the same mistakes but I have the odd winner to make a wee profit. Best Wishes to you TBF, everyone. | tenapen
02/9/2021 16:23 | Hi tenapen hope you are well. Those days on off-express / unquoted seem a lifetime ago now! | the big fella
02/9/2021 16:21 | Hi TBF. I love the DRIP - my regret is not realising how quickly compound investing adds up. I should have acted sooner to open an ISA and start to 'bed & ISA' some shares. Cutting the dividend tax free allowance to £2,000 doesn't help. Happy to know the government has lots of my tax money to pay for the NHS. Ho hum :-) | tenapen
02/9/2021 15:59 | Absolutely. I have held these shares since they were listed on OFEX and were divested from my Sion Holdings investment. I can't remember when that was but must be 15/20 years. The capital gains have been excellent and my only regret is not re-investing the dividends! Every long term investor should be looking to tuck away these shares. | the big fella
02/9/2021 15:42 | These spread-betting companies are notorious for volatile revenue and earnings streams. Growth companies they are not. I wouldnt even go as far as describing them as trader platforms, more like gamblers platform. As tenapen says Jarvis isnt that. | cfro
02/9/2021 15:30 | Next Divi Dec 21 | flowc
02/9/2021 15:05 | Please correct me if i'm wronge CMC is a traders platform Jarvis is, and has been pointed out many times - an old 'n' goldie site !. No whistles or bells, just a solid service. No comparison. | tenapen
02/9/2021 14:00 | Thanks Shank...I bought in at 200 so I can sit it out. Next div is in Feb let's see what happens. (oddly date div payments see hxxps://www.dividend | petewy
02/9/2021 11:12 | gdcox, per your question, "Has anyone worked out the % of business coming from share commissions. I belive it to be small." Suggest you look at Note 3 from the FY results, This breakdown is not provided in the HY results. | shanklin
02/9/2021 10:54 | Peter. What is the point of targeting the ex-div date for any share? | gdcox
02/9/2021 10:46 | Quite happy to add again if we get another irrational large share price dip. | shanklin
02/9/2021 10:46 | What a shambles for CMC? I'm out. Wait for next div date before re-entering, | petewy
02/9/2021 10:22 | petewy- trusting that our chairman's opening paragraph in the interim report still rings true, we shall see. | firtashia
02/9/2021 10:07 | Has anyone worked out the % of business coming from share commissions. I belive it to be small. | gdcox
02/9/2021 09:48 | Good post firt | petewy
02/9/2021 08:31 | Revs warning at CMCX today, revs were forecast to moderate but even so its still a big miss vs those forecasts | firtashia |
