Maybe not ... but I am. |
No directors adding at current levels..?. |
Personally I would rather they use any excess cash to look to expand their US operations to counter any Trump tarrifs, but also if they can become the dominant US flooring provider then we will be very happy shareholders indeed. |
I think the offlloads by sellers ahead of the end of the tax year has pushed the price down. Yield does look good . Looking at the last balance sheet the increase in dividend should be very safe.
Bit surprised they haven’t done what lots of cash rich companies have done and announce a buy back |
Nice rise today , is the worst behind JHD ? |
Looks like institutional selling. For weeks now a little flurry of buys before the bigger volume sales arrive. I am no expert but are the funds off loading on possible inheritance tax rule change fears. 5.59% forward dividend increased for roughly 50 years. Quality earnings.. Return on capital 28.9% Return on equity 23.4% Operating Margin 19.61%. Forward pe 15.2 but managed to increase earnings on lower revenue. Have started buying lately and and hopping for the price fall to continue as I add. |
Wonder why this is so unloved at present. Not the only SME in the same boat but trading here isn't bad and the company's finances are solid. A 10 year or more low now. Probably in a bit of a doom loop where people selling because the price is falling... |
Got some for my wife at that low didn't think it would bounce that quickly ? |
This is close to the 2013/2014 lows now I'd have thought that would make a pretty good inflexion point. |
The potential de-rating I previously mentioned is taking placce.
This sold on up to a 30 X rating at one point, arguably ludicrous. |
Zeus view: Against notable market headwinds in some markets, we view the continued resilient performance as highly encouraging, reflecting the group’s diverse market exposure and strong pricing power. While near-term challenges persist, we remain confident in the long-term growth of the business, with significant headroom to expand overseas and a favourable exposure to more defensive commercial markets. Trading on a FY25E P/E of 16.5x, this represents a significant discount to Halstead’s historic rating, which we view as undeserved given the potential for further consistent delivery until an improvement in certain end markets is seen, backed by both a strong balance sheet and 5%+ dividend yield. |
TU is not going to do anything good to the share price I fear, indeed I see it is a new 10 yr low.
Overall sales are slightly below last year with profit before tax comparable to the level in H1 2024.
In the UK, the core home market, the Company has experienced more caution following the incoming government's first budget and the subsequent changes to living wage and national insurance. Our UK sales in the first six months are in line with the comparative but have been constrained, in part, as a result of lower confidence leading to customers revising their capital spend and deferring renewal. Additionally, the six-month period has also seen a degree of destocking in our UK distributor customers. Despite this, and given the level of backlog of repairs and renewals in the health sector and education, we can only be confident of prospects in the UK.
In overseas markets there are many positives in our broad reach of sales. Whilst Australia and New Zealand sales have declined, turnover in the Americas, the Middle East and Mediterranean is progressing.
The Company remains ungeared with cash levels broadly similar to the comparative (2023: £ 62.4m) notwithstanding increased dividends and higher UK corporation tax.
The Board's expectations for the full year are that profit before tax will be in line with market expectations.
The Company expects to announce its results for the half-year ended 31 December 2024 on 31 March 2025. |
Another nice dividend cheque hits the SIPP today - kerching. |
That sentiment has given the share price a little boost thanks... |
The problem with JHD methinks is the other flooring plc companies are nearby penny shares. Take victory plc £ 13 to 40p and a big rise to 58p because of a director buy.
Headlam ?? Market cap £100m
JHD rise 4p which is c £ 20 m on market cap and Victoria rise 18p (18%) and that’s .02%? Of the debt
Thinking I’ll stick to games workshop and tech stocks |
I trust your broker enjoys all of the trading commission you generate for him Sphere25. Good luck with your plan. |
Good long-established family firm which actually makes stuff. Decent profits and management. Feels stable with good future. |
Wouldn't have thought it would be Flooring Friday, but bizarrely just been looking at LIKE (just posted on the LIKE board), and ended up taking a trade at JHD.
Stop hogging all the flooring fun!
Had a little go at 192p here for a short term trade.
Just wondering if it can carry momentum to over £2 again. Stick me stop at just under 189p if it falls down.
Quality company this, but it just looks like a trading share whilst folk pick up the dividend.
LIKE could interesting if you..erm....really are into...your...erm....flooring.
All imo DYOR
16:37 UPDATE. Price has closed at 194.5p with strong demand on the book from 190p-194.5 and someone has paid £2 after hours for just 25k shares. Any more for any more? Roll on Monday! |
Alas no , maybe it will save on the catering bill... |
Unfortunately can’t get there this year Wad Collector. Enjoy lunch if you’re there. |
"Firstly, let me welcome you all to our AGM. This is my last AGM as I am stepping down as Chairman. Today we will approve our final dividend of 6.0p per ordinary share - yet another record dividend. This marks the 48th year of increase. I am pleased to report that trading in the current financial year is on track to meet our expectations of continued progress. In addition, cash levels remain strong and ahead of the prior year. I, and the Board, remain positive about the market most particularly in the healthcare, education and aged care sectors, all of which are areas of government focus on investment both in the UK and overseas."
LHG, I have high expectations that you will be there to sample the Oysters. |
Ex div ? Thursday?
Normally they drop on the day |
Xd sixpence this week. |
Budget worst fears have not been realised, good to see a bit of a bounce. |
