27/5/2020 12:42 | McCall (£3.5m+ salary) should be 100% focused on ITV but Burberry appoints Dame McCall as senior independent director : | gerardp
27/5/2020 12:06 | It's the production facilities which will be of most interest to a buyer. That is where they will see future profits coming from, not the traditional linear TV channels which they might not even plan to hang on to in the longer term. | spot1034
27/5/2020 10:05 | So the brains on here are saying that a huge player out there watching and waiting to time their move are more concerned about the end of the virus or Brexit ! Are they balls. Mount a bid when the share price is a lowly 85p or wait until it has recovered to 170p Not the smartest strategy is it boix. Now is the time for them to put their cards on the table with an initial bid of 150p with an expectation of having to pay 200p a share. | tlobs2
27/5/2020 07:09 | For what it's worth, Simply Wall Street (again) has an analysis of ITV's debt problem. hxxps://simplywall.s "ITV’s net debt is only 1.2 times its EBITDA. And its EBIT easily covers its interest expense, being 22.9 times the size. So you could argue it is no more threatened by its debt than an elephant is by a mouse. On the other hand, ITV’s EBIT dived 11%, over the last year. If that rate of decline in earnings continues, the company could find itself in a tight spot. There’s no doubt that we learn most about debt from the balance sheet. But it is future earnings, more than anything, that will determine ITV’s ability to maintain a healthy balance sheet going forward." | barbra2
27/5/2020 05:33 | A good investor knows when to take profits, when to sit on the sidelines and when to re-invest. In hindsight, it looks like: Take profits last year. Sit in sidelines until recently. And, IMO, re-invest lightly and tactically from April, and more general since yesterday. All just my view. And there are good and bad companies out there, but do your research and you'll reep the fruits of you investments. | hamhamham1
26/5/2020 17:50 | Any predictor wanting to buy will wait a few weeks for ITV debt to receive junk status and buy the debt not equity. To be fair even this is unlikely without the certainty of advertising revenues returning to at least 2019 levels. | boix
26/5/2020 12:00 | 150p fair value according to Simply Wall Street, I cannot argue with that. Someone could pick ITV up on the cheap, or at least try to. Just my opinion but unlikely the ITV BOD would let it go on the cheap. | nige co
26/5/2020 11:41 | It's 48.7% undervalued compared to fair value according to Simply Wall Street. hxxps://simplywall.s | barbra2
26/5/2020 11:21 | Agreed Spot, any potential bidder won't want the ITV business to recover before making a move on ITV, they already know the potential of ITV and the content that they own. If indeed there is a potential bidder, they won't get a better time to strike than now with the share price @81p. Just my opinion of cause. | nige co
26/5/2020 10:23 | A) Businesses restarting must surely mean an upturn in advertising (it is probably being booked as we speak) and B) as has been said, if there is a potential bidder out there they will need to make their move quickly before the share price moves up to take account of A). Looks positive either way. | spot1034
26/5/2020 10:16 | Hod ...You missed the market crash a short while back lol Strong breakout, will take us to test 99 resistance soon, as long as the bulls hold the S&P 500 ..200 day ma around 3000, so far so good. | ny boy
26/5/2020 09:22 | I'm out. Will buy back in at 60p. Convinced a market crash is imminent (next week or two). | hodhasharon
26/5/2020 09:14 | Breakout from 80p brewing, bigger market is bullish and broken through the all important 200 day ma for S&P 500 indicating a bullish rally could be ahead, if so..ITV should run up to test 99p resistance...letR | ny boy
25/5/2020 22:57 | Let's talk in November - it's sad history repeats itself | boix
25/5/2020 22:38 | I suppose that's one way of looking at it! | ianood
25/5/2020 21:21 | We are still on a market wide pre recession valuation held up short term by central banks. It won't last. | boix
25/5/2020 19:45 | Thank you, I hadn't seen that article previously however, It would cost significantly less now! | ianood
25/5/2020 19:43 | "The word on the street is that major shareholders of ITV have been sounded out by tech giants Apple, Amazon and Netflix about a possible takeover." OK, I know, it's from 2017 before you say it. | barbra2
25/5/2020 18:13 | Has Amazon ever been put in the frame as a suitor? ITV would dovetail with Prime Video putting the on a Netflix type basis but with the added advantage of media coverage? | ianood
25/5/2020 12:45 | I take your point Jacko & Boix, but after the Pandemic & Brexit the ITV share price won't be down at below 80p. Any interested acquires should be looking to take advantage of this by making a move now while ITV are at their weakest. | nige co
24/5/2020 21:13 | Can't see any takeover this side of the Pandemic and Brexit. | jacko07
24/5/2020 19:14 | I believed that ITV will be takeover at some point. But there is absolutely no prospect of any takeover at this valuation (ITV) until there is clarity over future advertising revenues - now the problem is two fold Brexit and the Pandemic. Both need to be resolved and their long impacts on ITVs business measured. ITV also has a high level of debt which I suspect will soon be downgraded to junk status - could Liberty’s takeover of NTL/Telewest repeat itself? | boix
24/5/2020 10:02 | "The absence of a long-speculated bid for ITV Plc hasn’t deterred merger and acquisition desks from naming the U.K. broadcaster as Europe’s most likely takeover target for a fourth year in a row." | barbra2
24/5/2020 08:46 | They are all this year apart from the Comcast one, I put that one in because they are a potential acquirer. | nige co
24/5/2020 08:26 | These are all old, Comcast article is from 2015 ?? | mattisian2 |
