Oil soaring...now up 3.86% to $53.84.... Looking good for Stella start up and £1 breach very soon...IMHO

yes that may work out well but let's hope that in their 'wisdom' they don't decide to wait for oil to get back to $100/b before pumping first oil from Stella! ;~)

You have to hand it to management - they obviously foresaw the outcome of the OPEC meeting so they conjured up this junction box ruse so as to co-ordinate the first oil with the OPEC production cuts. Onwards and upwards.

Another blue day ahead...strong finish in Canada last night ....my guess is this will be ticking up nicely through Dec as the timescale for repairs to junction boxes was a worse case scenario..I think we will get first oil before end of Dec IMHO.

Following a disappointing IAE RNS, we are only 4-6 weeks from ( finally) seeing the benefit of the GSA FPSO.. we should be at £1 to £1.10 by now with Stella coming in line in Oct or even nov16.

IMHO POO 55$ to $60 is likely, but volatility ahead still.


Risks post OPEC Deal
Risk: compliance: quotas not stuck to for 6 mths and could be hard to track and manage - transparency.
Risk: shale ramps too quick for market, how soon? How much?
Risk: what Trump does in oil industry, in particular with Canadian imports.
Risk: demand increases need to continue

Actual proposed deal: 1.2m to 32.5 01jan17
KSA 486kbopd cut to 10.06mobpd
Iran capped at 3.797mbopd
Iraq cuts by 200kbopd
( non-OPEC and Russia to possibly cut too.. about 600kbopd on 09Dec16)

OPEC and Non OPEC (TBC on 9dec) = 1.2 + 0.6 = 1.8mbopd

Live now. They have a deal and say Russia commits to 300k reduction. Indonesia are out but they still say 1.2m cut.

There wasn't much belief in last opec meeting either so market shrugged it off quite quickly. Attention will turn back to fundamentals and other news if there's no deal.

Everyone can decide for themselves how thats all going. But there's a lot of oil projects, oil companies and oil countries that need at least $50 oil price.
