SDI Group have received a contract with Staff International: Diesel (Italy) for a new automated packing line, Geodis (Italy) to implement a new large Trolley system (T500) with cages for shoes for an International Internet Company and an order for 2 Sorters (Flat Sorter and Pusher sorter) from one of the World Largest Retailers located in Spain. Project work has commenced at Marks & Spencer (UK) and SDI Group have signed a €585k order with Armand Thiery (France).

A new office has been opened in Hamburg, Germany; becoming the 4th German base.

SDI Group are proud to announce that they have been presented with the title of ASDA Supply Chain Excellence Service Provider of the Year! This award was a direct result of the 3 site maintenance contract signed in 2013, where SDI Group were able to realise a 10% year on year saving over the 3 year term of the contract.

SDI Group recently won a number of contracts with TJX for extensions to the existing GOH and Conveyor solutions in their Bergheim (Germany), Stoke-on-Trent (UK) and Walsall (UK) sites and also installation of a new GOH system for the processing centre TJX Wroclaw (Poland).

The group has also won a new contract to build a 4 level mezzanine together with a complete GOH T500 Trolley and storage retrieval system for G-Star (The Netherlands). Collins (Turkey) have ordered a Flat Sorter with a 300 drop station as well as complete automated in and out bound conveyor sortation system. ETRO (Italy) have placed an order to extend an existing GOH system as well as its mezzanine. SDI Group Spain is currently installing a large single GOH system for a major Spanish textile retailer.

SDI Group have had a very successful start to the year exhibiting at the leading trade shows, Logimat (25-27 February , Stuttgart, Germany), Internet Retailing (26-27 March, Birmingham, UK) and Intralogistics (1-4 April, Paris, France): thank you to those who visited us! The Group will be present at CEMAT (19-23 May, Hannover, Germany), SIL (5-7 June, Barcelona, Spain) and Manutention (17-20 November, Paris, France).

SDI Group recently completed a project for The American Apparel (USA), a new DC for QVC/GEODIS (Italy) went live in October and the Group are in the process of implementing RFID Scanning Sorters for all three Decathlon sites in Italy. SDI Group recently won two Hanging Garment projects for a new and an existing Matalan (UK) site. SDI Group recently integrated an ASRS system with a Sorter as well as a Put-To-Light system for COOP (Italy), they are currently supplying storage equipment to Original Marines (Italy) and an Automated Packing Line for the new Prada Shoes warehouse operated by Geodis (Italy).

SDI Group has been awarded for implementing a new fully automated Single GOH solution for one of the world's largest Spanish textile retail, as well as signing a major facility with a department store in Brazil.

SDI Group's new EHS – Hanger Sorter, (first on the market for sorting empty hangers) has been successfully installed at 4 TJX Europe sites (Bergheim in Germany, Stoke, Wakefield & Walsall in UK). A new office has recently been opened in Augsburg, South of Germany.

SDI Group has been contracted to install a conveyor solution with integrated 1,200 Put-To-Light positions at new DC for QVC operated by Geodis (Italy). SDI Group have recently been appointed to install a GOH Conveyor System for a Customer within the laundry industry, DBL Böge (Germany) and an automated trolley conveyor system at Meyer & Meyer (Germany). A project was recently completed for Brands Exclusive (Australia), in which a conveyor was installed for process from packing through to dispatch, including a carton outbound sorter.

In addition to the helping George at ASDA (UK) with its phased development plans for maximising the cube utilisation and productivity of the Lymedale site earlier this year, SDI Group has recently been awarded a maintenance contract with fashion brand ASDA George (UK) across all three of the company's UK DC's.

A new office has recently been established and opened by SDI Group in Switzerland. SDI Group USA held the 7th annual SDI Executive Logistics Forum 2013 which was extremely prosperous.

Fashion retailer uses fast sortation technology

Fashion brand, The Sting, has used fast sortation technology to effect rapid store replenishment, giving the retailer a significant competitive edge.

"We started in 2005 with our first sorter from SDI Group. Then two years ago we bought a second sorter from SDI and it has now been running for over a year. The first sorter handled 10,000 pieces an hour and now the latest one sorts 20,000, but at the moment we only need capacity for 16,000. So we have spare capacity of 4000 items," he says.

SDI Group acquires UK systems manufacturer

SDI Group has acquired Kettering-based, powered roller conveyor systems manufacturer CMECS.

The new joint partnership will provide SDI with an in-house manufacturer to supply its European network, allowing it to react even more quickly to fashion business customer demands and also to produce bespoke designs that are aligned to the industry's requirements. CMECS gains increased flexibility to serve its customers, including SDI.

Gordon Smith, CEO of SDI Group said: "We purchase approximately £10 million of conveyor a year. We can now source up to 50 per cent of that from CMECS, particularly for projects requiring short lead times and high quality systems."

SDI Group completed the installation of the new PTU sorter for No Limit (Poland); the commissioning of Phase I in line with the overall project schedule. The installation of the second FSU sorter has commenced at Abercrombie & Fitch (The Netherlands): the project is on schedule and in addition, Abercrombie & Fitch have extended their Maintenance Contract with SDI Group. Four empty hanger sorting machines have been sold to TJX Europe (Germany). SDI Group have recently been appointed to extend an existing hanging sorter system for Primark (UK), and Tilly's (USA) have assigned SDI Group USA to design, build and install a new ecommerce building: which includes installation of a mark IV sorter. Coltex (The Netherlands) software and hardware upgrade is on schedule to go live by the end of April. The Nike (USA) sorter project has been completed and is in working order. A contract has been signed to integrate a ASRS System and PTL Solution for COOP CNNA (Italy) into the sortation system supplied in 2009. Industries (Italy) have appointed SDI Group to integrate their existing T500 Trolley System with an automated RFID Reading station. A new T500 system is to be installed at PRADA (Italy) and Ape&Partners (Italy).

A new office has been established and opened in Turkey, and SDI Group have recently developed partnership with a conveyor company, CMECS (UK): now a member of the SDI Group.

Still seemingly plenty going on at SDI

SDI Group received an order from HUGO BOSS AG (Germany) to extend their GOH DC and an order for a T500 Trolley System from Diffusione Tessile : MaxMara (Italy). The Group has also been awarded an order for a Mark IV for Nike (Canada), a new sortation system for G+K Services (USA) and a Racking Conveyor and Packing systems for both BSL Geodis (Italy), Weidmuller (Italy) and Panalpina (Italy). Furthermore, SDI Group have been appointed to install a conveyor system and carton outbound sorter for Brands Exclusive (Australia) and have completed a multi storey GOH Storage system for HOBBS (UK). Having recently established a subsidiary company in Peru : SDI Peru S.A.C, projects are already underway with Supermercados Peruanos (Peru) and Inkafarma (Peru), as well as several others in Columbia.

SDI Group will be exhibiting at the following trade shows: Expo-Logistec (24-26 October, Santiago, Chile), Logistica (13-16 November 2012, Jaarbeurs Utrecht, The Netherlands), Manutention (19-22 November 2012, Paris, France), Logimat (19-21 February 2013, Stuttgart, Germany) and IMHX (19-22 March 2013, Birmingham, UK).

Following the MBO are there any other shareholders remaining here?

It's been a long time since I've looked at the website but seems to be plenty going on, which is obviously why mgmt were so keen to snap the company up at such a value when the chance presented itself.

SDI Group has been recently awarded to design and integrate automatic sorting systems for Guess (USA), Dots (USA), consulting work for BENNET (Italy) and Garment on Hangers systems for B&C SWISS (Switzerland). Hollister (NL) has made the move into the new facility and products are being sorted by an SDI FSU sorter. Abercrombie & Fitch (NL) has now gone live and the Cage to tote project (UK, Walsall and Stoke) is nearing completion. SDI have also successfully completed the installation of rope sorter at TJX Bergheim (Germany). Abcdin, (Chile) have engaged with SDI in the design of the new DC. SDI have designed and are currently implementing a new facility for Concha y Toro, (South America) and are likely to implement automation in a new DC for Prisa, (Chile).

Hi eater24,

I was notified of the offer by my Broker. It is indicated at 2.6p per share, is not compulsory and with no guarantee that FSU will not scale back the purchase.

I wholeheartedly understand the sentiments expressed by yourself and pelleeds1980, but decided to accept on the basis that there is no hope for PI's such as ourselves when the reality is that time and again regulators abjectly fail to intervene.

I wish us all better investing for the future.

i wonder what happened to those who did not take up the offer and still have holdings in the company , were they able too , new web site with offices all over the world it seems retail seems to have come back , totally shafted those who took it depending on your buy in price , just wondering what happens to a shareholder in an unlisted company or as pi are just as screwed, anyone have any ideas

Hi all, No payment yet but its on its way - email received from Barclays below. Lesson learned - never touch AIM again even with a very very long barge pole!!!!

"Thank you for your email regarding your SDI Group plc shares.
I confirm a contingent payment of 0.8p per share was paid on 26 April 2011. As yet we have not received the cheque for this due to the recent bank holidays. However, please be assured the payment will be made as soon as we receive this cheque. "

I have not received my payment into my Barclays Stockbroker account yet. I've sent them a secure email so maybe hear Tuesday.

I suspect the fact that some of the managemnent team acquired holdings up to 5% without declaring to AIM when they went above 3% (is that the disclosure limit now or is it 5%?) was in breach of listing rules but in any event acted together with others to make a bid at 2.5p which was about 0.75 beneath the bid at the time. The MD, who has a fiduciary duty to shareholders, knew very well the MMs would respond by straddling the offer with the bid ask 2p/3p hence we got hit with an instantaneous loss of 23% upon the announcement of the management's "kind" offer. Hence he acted with a conflict of interest to that of external holders in breach of his fiduciary duty. And that's the problem- who wants to spend thousands on lawyers to pursue it with no guarantee of an outcome in sharholder's favour.

The additional 0.8p sweetener I am still waiting for actually rectifies this breach of fiduciary duty which perhaps is why it was offered.

Is that the case, I wonder? I suspect it would be up to shareholders to launch a challenge before either AIM or the courts would investigate.

At least you got the cash. I was (more than) half expecting them to pull a fast one on that score, as well.
