17/10/2016 07:03 | If they only meet their targets due to forex, it's not a positive. | sheep_herder
16/10/2016 21:38 | tomyumgoong, last year the $ rate was £1.50. Looks like we'll be at $1.20 at the end of this year. If they only make the same turnover in $ as H2 last year, then that will equate to c. £75m for H2. that will get us to £138m for the whole year. | lpavlou
16/10/2016 10:35 | Thought for the week!IQE only need £63m H2 revenue to equal highest ever revenue made in 2013 of £126m and beat market expectations of £124m.......can they do it? In H2 last year they made £61m so I think they can! We need to beat expectations not just meet expectations! | tomyumgoong
14/10/2016 11:43 | Wouldn't be surprised if a takeover is on the horizon. Also IQE must be benefitting even more from the pound dropping further. Looking cheap! IMOH | lucas5950
13/10/2016 15:01 | Level 2 has been weak for a couple of days (twice as many sell orders than buy)so could see there was little support on there if things turned negative .... however its good to see buyers have come out of the woodwork to take advantage of the dip. At the moment sellers for 180,000 shares 29-30p .... buyers 250,000 wanted 27.50-28 (so thats our support I suppose) ...... but hardly mega volume ? | hannath

13/10/2016 12:36 | Ennismore prob want to close their short before the next results, or a predator co wants the share price as low as pos before launching bid. All common practice, the Pvte invs and chart watchers will get duped | big7ime
13/10/2016 12:08 | Very interesting blocks of trades occurring today. Coordinated effort? | lazyj

12/10/2016 09:06 | Thanks fingers and Rivaldo That date of the 24th mentioned in Fingers chart analysis is interesting Apple Skyworks and Macom ALL report about that time. Although Apple is seen as a bellwether stock for most smartphone IP providers I would look more closely at Macom and particularly their comments on their GAN business, the update will hopefully be positive, they indicated 3 months ago that their GAN production would finally get going in their next FY -well that started 12 days ago :-), we should soon be getting news from our solar partners as well, so hopefully positive newsflow can help maintain momentum. 12/10/2016 07:41 | I posted a while ago regarding the benefit of recent currency movements to IQE, and with the dollar now at around $1.20 or so, it's worth an update. Of IQE's £114m turnover last year, £70m was to the USA, £28m to Asia Pacific and only around £13m to Europe. Although there is a natural currency hedge as IQE has many of its costs in US dollars, IQE did state last year that "As a guide to the sensitivity of the group’s results to movements in foreign currency exchange rates, a one cent movement in the US dollar to Sterling rate would impact annual earnings by approximately £300,000". Since the US dollar has strengthened against the pound by some 35 cents recently, this suggests that IQE's profits would gain by some £10.5m on an annual basis at current rates, i.e by some £4m or more this year. | rivaldo

08/10/2016 16:46 | If IQE share price does not rise sharply soon I fear we will get taken over on the cheap with this low pound IMO it should be in the 40s Misunderstanding of its growth markets in recent yrs is the possible cause, false (IMO) expectation of contracting mobile markets another. Ennismores Large short position is looking like a costly mistake too for them proving the big boys don't always get it right. They could get really caught out if a takeover bid comes in. So on balance the positives outweigh with the need to close that short, reducing pound, expanding growth markets, good iphone7 sales, increased likelihood of a positive trading update and improving sentiment, strong chart pointing to next level 36.5 this yr | big7ime
06/10/2016 16:44 | I am loving this share price consolidation , very positive , of course I would like it to continue rising , but stopping and taking a breather is no bad thing, whilst charting is a good indicator there's nothing like news and results to drive an share price , key thing here is sentiment has become much more positive, the momentum will come back and will be likely driven by partner news 2 excellent blog posts from our customer Macom This one highlights the immense market for our technology in data centres ( see my reasons to be cheerful posts) The next one is about RF energy and focuses on microwave ovens - don't tut! The market is massive and this is only 1 of the applications for RF energy. Macom is a main mover here using GAN on silicon wafers that will be produced by IQE , the video is the one I have previously linked S | sweenoid
05/10/2016 16:54 | Why does IQE in the last couple of days stay green until towards the end of trading & it goes red !Is there anything in this behaviour or is it just me !! | ropey
05/10/2016 12:06 | Back to no interest again! | bigfrocks |
