anyone think this could be one of those shares that just slowly rises under the radar of most people until one day a couple of years from now its a £5...... £8.......£10share. its seems its previous highs of around 160p are nothing compared to the diverse and now what appears to be the important bit the maturity of its investments. some great co's in the portfolio seem to be having a great year and still many more big realizations coming to fruition. aimo.

ps did i say its great. lol

i love the look of the 3month chart. with the positive news coming from their portfolio, does anyone know where the limit of this co is. hopefully it will get back to its previous of 160pish. maybe have some resistence but who knows. very hard to value a co like this.

hopefully some good news re testing from o nanopore soon. they were letting a few labs test it indipendently before final prep to market it.

maybe the uk councils should buy it - think of the savings re cleaning the uk streets!

maybe so - but if that involves buying the technology at a decent premium to do so, I would find it hard to complain too much

that's good

let's hope other gum chewers like it and that it becomes a must have technology for the big gum brands

good old woodford appears to be backing this big time -although it is probably less than 1% of his fund!

another 3mill taken buy invesco. all good. either means it has been held down for the last few days to fill it, as it has taken a while to fill it. or it was the resason for the lift in the first place. personnally i would think it went up on real news( that we are not aware of) and then dropped for the order fill. invesco (who now have 80,000,000) would not accept paying a 14p premium for their shares. imo

all down to oxford nanophore and the cf to the illumina enhanced bid from novartis would be my guess.

maybe the chewing gum is selling better than expected? Has anyone seen anything about that since the launch announcement?

its great that this rise is holding after nearly a week. there must be something solid to it. i suppose with so many cos in the portfolio it could be anything.

not much volume today to drop it back down, but the spread is still quite big

I haven't been watching if volume confirms the spike. Maybe something to do with IPO's likely coming promotion to the Footsie250 (June reshuffle). Ought to underpin the share price nicely for the next 10 weeks or so.

It would be nice to see a good reason. Oxford nanopore seems the obvious as its the biggest potential in the portfolio. If roche decided to make an offer for them, it would be worth.a lot to ip. Or even an announcement of floatation or that the sequencer testing had impressed the industry.

can't think of any reason for a spike like that

maybe an announcement will be made Mon at 0700

I'm struggling to find a reason for the sudden spike. I'm beginning to wonder if it's to do with Oxford nanopore that's the biggest co in the portfolio. The Roche illumina deal is wavering and Oxford could be a potential bid target. Bid or not, the new sequencer has put a possible 1bill price tag on it. Thats worth about 200mill to ip. That's nearly half again on the current mcap of ip. Works out at about 1.88per share. Numis has valued Oxford at upto 2bill if it floats and on the succsess of the sequencer. Add in the rest of the portfolio and could be over 2quid in a couple of years. Any thoughts or comments would be welcom

Wtf happened at the close. its nice to see share price up but it needs to be substantiated otherwise there will be a sell off. Atleast this share shows it can make big increases without having to gap fill.
