29/1/2022 19:34 | I’m guessing further buybacks are likely or divi increase, what else are they gonna do with the cash? Has to be at least 20p per share and perhaps closer to 25p per share of cash left. A clearer plan with the use of this cash pile would have given confidence to shorter term investors who are currently running for the hills. Unfortunately I seem to recall that management has NAV linked incentives rather than share price linked so they won’t be sharing in the current hurt. Another reason for falls may be that IPO is probably held by many tech/growth focussed OEICs which have to sell stock if there are net investor withdrawals. I just hope that management don’t lose their bottle and sell ONT at the bottom of the market, I think that ONT sales growth will go parabolic over the next 2-3 yrs. | wetpantz
29/1/2022 12:12 | A good chance some stops will be taken out. Will it justify a comment from management given the substantial fall and discount to NAV? | p1nkfish
28/1/2022 23:44 | Thanks P. Good weekend all. D | dennisbergkamp
28/1/2022 21:06 | Something towards that number dbk. Also influenced by the ONT price. | p1nkfish
28/1/2022 20:28 | P1nk, I think you're likely right and I'll grab some at what will be bargain prices... I think you worked the NAV to be around the 140p mark? D | dennisbergkamp

28/1/2022 19:36 | Monday open will likely be interesting. | p1nkfish
28/1/2022 19:31 | Back to Jan 2021. Anyone care to guess the bottom with no buyback to support and given the chart? I have no firm idea but a deep flush down is very possible, into capitulation before a turnaround. | p1nkfish
28/1/2022 19:08 | Interestingly large cross on the closing fix and much lower than last trade...1.8m shs if I remember rightly. Prob a HF shorting expecting the shares to open lower on Monday on this announcement. Normally that would be the case. But in these markets a tad riskier. The benefit of the share buy back...effectively buying the stub at more than 50% discount to the year end valuation. | palisz
28/1/2022 18:24 | Now we get to see what the market thinks without IP buyback support. | p1nkfish
28/1/2022 18:07 | What has the £35m buyback programme achieved? | bottomfisher
28/1/2022 17:07 | IP Group confirms that the £35 million Buyback Programme announced on 8 October 2021 has now been completed. | palisz
28/1/2022 10:07 | bamboo2, where is your stop? I am asking this question again because you didn't answer or perhaps didn't see it. Do you have a stop? | spooky

24/1/2022 12:48 | I don't class ONT with those just to clarify, for starters could not even attempt to ascribe a value to that business. Way over my pay grade. | essentialinvestor
24/1/2022 12:43 | PE have dumped some pricy lower grade sh1t on to the LSE over the last 12 months in exits, as per nicely timed. Markets may be a little more discerning for a time. | essentialinvestor
24/1/2022 12:39 | General outlook for PE and VC maybe not so rosy as last year and with a 28% exposure* to those sectors my portfolio doesn't look so clever today. How about .. Most PE/VC companies these days have strong balance sheets so interest rates (if any) within the investee companies don't necessarily need to follow the macro outlook ? With most of these same PE/VC companies already showing discounts to NAV of >10% we are near to the bottom of the current rerating phase ? Relatively cautious valuations of investee companies should avoid any colossal implosions ? *GROW, IPO, PIN, FIPP, MERC, AUGM, CHRY | cordwainer
24/1/2022 10:01 | pink, I have had the same reply from the co as last time I asked, ie they can only report the TR-1's they are given. There is therefore still a mystery surrounding approx 25% of the shares that were traded as part the Woodford/Invesco/Lan I can only guess that they were taken by mm's or whoever, as a 'temporary holding' and that it is the remainder of these that are now being sold into the market. | bamboo2
24/1/2022 09:09 | All I can find is about 150K short, noise, dated 31st Dec. I'm wondering if there has been an increase out of the US as there is a move against tech in general and more specifically where there are illiquid holdings - I'm just theorising. | p1nkfish
24/1/2022 08:31 | pink, None of the short tracker websites have any reports above 0.5% The Liontrust TR-1 holding notice from 13/10/21 did have an obscure reference to stock lending 0.13% As you know Imperial dropped below 3%, 10/9/21. We have to wait until end of Jan to see their most up to date internal holding report. I would guess that there will be short index trackers that will have some IPO short holdings. | bamboo2
