All about cash as SED shows this morning. Companies running short will be heavily punished in these markets.

And to be honest I don't like the sound of the recent update

'Invinity continues to make progress towards a final investment decision with its preferred project partner in respect of the LODES project which was awarded £11m of matched funding by the UK Government's Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) in April 2023."

Final Investment decision ???? What happens if it's no sorry not for us ...the wording indicates that this is far from a done deal ! This was recent it's very concerning that after months the partner has not yet made their decision !!?

This is left hanging causing great uncertainty. Likely one of the main reasons for the share price

The last meaningful sales rns was 4 months ago....for a company purporting to be the leading vfrb manufacturer in the west it's a very poor show with UK lodes contract partner still left hanging ??!!

Having won the so called LODEs competition, one would think the financial partner would've been announced by now - A year later on. One wonders what they've actually won.

Well, any promised orders seem to have dried up at present, long lead time order cycles never make for a good business, meanwhile, no orders equals no upfront deposits, their cash position will be getting tighter.

Very foolish for those buying this at 150 and sitting on their hands.

ok, a new game. On Hargreaves Lansdown i can buy 5000 IES shares for £1245.95 and sell them for £1251.80 did that twice, then tried at 7000 shares and bought at £1741.95 and sold at £1754.90 interesting game £20+ profit for nothing.....oh well no fun or skill in that, back to the horses. had noticed that glitch before.

I don't know for sure if this is genuine, but it wouldn't surprise me if it is. Yet another good reason to use vanadium batteries rather than lithium!

#5975 post Robertspc1. I share your scepticism of whom will provide the funding. I recall that robertspc1 indicated that they had sold a big chunk of their holding, maybe all of it, last year.

Siemens-Gamesa are recovering from problems with quality of components with their wind turbines and surely will be cautious to fund much more of IES's Mistral. No directors of IES ever buy in the market outside of tiny sums in open offers.

Lithium Iron Phosphate battery prices are falling further this year (2024) and they are more difficult catch fire with thermal runaway, unlike Li Ion ones. No new orders have been announced to the market from IES for some time and lots of MWh/MWh announcements are needed that are profitable for IES to have that reflected in a growing share price.
Mechanisms for longer duration storage are still in the planning stages in the UK and elsewhere I believe. LDES and revenue stacking from different kinds of grid support for flow batteries is IES area for selling. Even grid congestion that is growing on many grids including UK has failed to inspire the siting of our batteries on any large scale as far as I can see.

I am a shareholder with an averaged net buy price in the 4Op plus region.

Some might say negative posts are not the thing to do if you own the stock, but reality of the risks of IES shares is important to consider. I sold my open offer (32p) shares at about 50p. I then bought more at 40p. Armed with my assessment of a range of considerations that I used to write this today, it would be difficult for me to justify buying even at the current price about 25p.

Siemens Gamesa reported a Euro 434m loss in the first quarter. Not sure they will be riding to the rescue here
