03/10/2002 14:57 | Is any other share in the mkt behaving logically at the moment??? Don't look at this for short termism, it will never be that, u need to take a broad line over a reasonable period - if u are gonna day trade then i can't help u - try Gamblers Anonymous. Nothing has changed since i last posted and nothing will in the near future - the shares have been broadly stable during the recent slump, that must alert u to something in your analysis. Remember this company makes money on stock markets and companies on those markets - it should in a perfect world align itself each and every day to the movements of the mkt. 20/9/2002 00:14 | Not sure this a path i wish to go down, i am aware the details are at best difficult to establish at the moment due to lack of analysis but this should improve from next monday following the enhancement into the FT250. U could always look at the annual report on www.investec.com - say in the shareholders analysis section for the static figures - the projected ones are a different story. :) Radge | radgegadge
18/9/2002 11:49 | thanks your info on INVP could you reveal certain other info without breaking any rules A what is yr projected eps for year end to come ? B at present i make yr dy% = about 6.0 and yr pe = about 7.0 - is this correct ? I believe this could be a medium term play on yields alone and feel the technicals back up yr feel on future movements | gibbopj12
17/9/2002 14:56 | The company has been trying to get a dual listing for a long time and has been made to jump every possible hurdle by the UK authorities. The company relaeased only a marginal amount due to the current mkt conditions being unfavourable for such companies. There will be further placements of shares in the future though i would expect us to be in the next upturn before releasing further shares. There was no dependency to raise capital from the initial listing so it seems like it was the minimum required to allow us to list and gain from being in the UK mktplace. As to where the shares may go i am unsure, they are at a discount to the sector as we are subject to the rand fluctuations and our relative size. I think this is a little overplayed and essentially allows the brokers to continue their negative outlooks on financial companies in general. For a quick short term gain i would look elsewhere but given the current market conditions i think in the next 12-18months we can expect to see us rise to closer to £9.50/share. I find it hard to tell at the moment for sure but there is a positive mood in the company as despite the markets we are generating new wins and remaining profitable without going through "restructuring" or job losses. This is quite unique in our sector. Anyway, enough spouting for now. Will update this with stuff as and when it becomes available and i am allowed to release it. 17/9/2002 11:19 | Radgegadge Thankyou for that, it kinda makes sense to me now I think. So do you have any opinion (personal of course, I appreciate that you cannot give a professional one if your work there) of where this share should/could go over the next few months? DO you know anyting about why all the shares were not floated and if there are plans to release these at some stage? Thankyou for your input. | far_canal
17/9/2002 11:14 | The listing in London is a secondary one with the primary in South Africa which exposes us to currency fluctuations from the rand. All investment groups are written up or down according to the relative values of the stock market and the analysts percieved effect the movement of the market has on them. We will soon be in the FTSE 250 ( late sept ) which will give the share a little more stability - the main reason i believe there is major volatility is because of the small trades and general poor liquidity of the stock - this will improve following the reclassification. We are one of the few around with a profit making business and no staff cuts - can that be said for the so called big boys at Schroders, Merrills etc etc??? We ain't perfect but a damn sight better than most! | radgegadge
16/9/2002 13:58 | Well I'd be interested in (trying) to understand why this share is so volatile. I'm not complaining as I've made a few quid buying and selling it, but being such a novice investor (and reading posts from all these 'experts' on ADVFN) I'd like to understand why. | far_canal
