results from INTU and HMSO this month. Writedowns expected. INTU trying to sell a centre in Derby (I think) and realised price will be very interesting to note.

JW selling down stake in HMSO and losing some 70 millions.... but he probably won't notice has he has thousands of millions anyway.

Er, not yet if they're averaging down from higher up :-((

I'd be surprised if anyone thought it would get down anywhere near 100p a few months ago, apart from those who just hope for round number disasters.

With the likely decline in valuations at 31 Dec even a completed sale of 1/2 the equity in Derby gearing is still likely to be heading north.

If anyone wants to buy INTU cheap, or parts of it etc., a sure way to get what you want is to arrange to hit the share price in various ways.

Once you've exhausted all the normal market buyers and funds that think there's value or a bounce coming, there's a permanently depressed share price, which gives plenty of time to plot.

Allegedly.

That's for that article Knowing. It's really useful.

I assume it's the same Kuwait crew that were part of the consortia looking to buy INTU so wheels within wheels.

I note the share pricing is rising. Also, someone wanted to buy 2m shares at 112 in the closing auction on Friday and only got partially filled.

Hard to say whether the share price is rising because selling half of Derby would reduce gearing which would be desirable or whether there is something deeper going on.

It feels to me like someone has decided there is value here at this price but whether there is more to it that than remains to be seen. Still lots of people willing to sell down here though...

Yump I posted the same analysis already. Is it because of the "real" value here on someone is lining up another bid, which seems to happen regularly, with INTU.

First the downgrades.
Then the mysterious price rises.
Then the upgrades.

Closes at 112. moves 10% intraday. Ridiculous

102 to 109 in a day. Someone isn't going to be happy with those downgrades that caused this.

210p was the recent offer. The consortium eventually pulled out but still we're now at 50% of that price.
HMSO turned down 625p in March saying it significantly undervalued the company (now trading at not far off 50% of that price)

The brokers price targets are just completely ignoring 3rd party valuations. Not remotely in the same ball park.
