Collectively employing EY is a CYA PR exercise by banks... "after careful consideration of the advice given by the independent experts EY after a detailed and extensive review of IRV we the lenders collectively have agreed .........."

Fenners, do you not think that we take a gamble on most companies out there these days? The whole thing is a gamble. Good risk / reward here imo.

Be gutted if this goes the same way as carillon. Might be a case of doing what Serco did...rights issue and structural reorganisation

jeffian the market clearly agrees with you.
I have found advfn is full of people who will not recognise the facts from RNS's
Many are just gamblers and some of those get lucky....

ok Jeffian...no point in arguing...you either believe the price reflects all possible bad news (including restructuring ) or you think it can drop further. at this price I will just hold.

#5280/1,

I'm afraid that suggests inexperience or naivety. Of course any company talks to its lenders on a regular basis in the normal course of business; putting out an RNS that you are "in discussions with your lenders" is something else entirely.

Companies often sail on regardless until someone pulls the shutters down for them. Monarch was a good example of this.

Come on .. I agree that the company has cash flow problems but it is 100% right to talk to its lenders this is how Business works . GLA

jeffian - suggest you sell all your shares then! simple... OF COURSE there had to be discussions with lenders...WTF! After that profit warning. Of COURSE lenders will demand updates/mtgs/big reviews.....

Cerrito,

We know they're flying blind. See my #5237.

And anyone who thinks an RNS including the phrase "discussions with its lenders" is anything other than concerning is either deluded or just doesn't know the ropes.

Sold some this morning.
The wording quote to provide further clarity unquote spooked me as suggests they are flying blind and we need to brace ourselves for an equity raise.

2 key things to bear in mind re banks acting in unison :

1. They see IRV daily cashflow
2. PE can pay down more debt if share price low

To a degree the rns could be seen as an aťtempt to facilitate that by pushing down the share price ..or a pre-cursor to a rights issue

pal44 yep - but NO major sales at all..about even if you think 20K share sales is big...largest was a sell of 50K....but that's nothing. so small PIs selling out. If I saw a MAJOR institution selling I would be worried but they are not!

gclark - agreed. but it does force panic - as we are seeing the little investors. If you want to make money on the market then you need to take risk.. or dont buy shares!!!!

If you were owed millions, tens of millions you would want to do as much checking as possible as to whether you will get your money back if the company makes a statement like it did recently. Yes that is normal.
Whether the exercise will be useful to the lenders is another matter. Consultants tend to tell you what you already know, and sometimes they report back less than what you already know.

You seem to have misread the article, it refers to the lenders hiring EY not the company, do you really think that is normal !?

cfc: Really this is exactly what I was saying earlier that until IRV know the total impact of the slow summer trading conditions and the energy from waste contracts, this is going nowhere.

Still bags of potential recovery here. But time for the new CEO to make a difference and sort out IRV over the next 6 - 12 months

fenners - of course they will. CEO will be looking at overall business and will want a full audit of the entire businesses. She's going to make some big calls/decisions..
