Looking at the chart, last year when this flat lined for this long on 2 occasions, the share price broke out... i envisage the same happening again, I wouldn't be surprised to see 35p within a few weeks.

TUI unveils First Choice offer

"Today's announcement is likely to accentuate fears of redundancies in the holiday operator sector, which has been hit hard by the revolution in customer behaviour that has followed the growth of internet-based holiday booking and the rise of low-cost flights"

A one year prospective P/E of 14.2 does look pretty mean for a company for which the forecast growth in PBT is 68%.

The situation is complicated by the tax loss position and I have never been convinced that the 'market' doesn't discount the benefit of tax losses (especially where they are running out).

Once the 2006/7 result looks in the bag (and of course we are 4.5 months into it) then the 'market' can look forward to 2007/8. On current forecasts (assuming no upgrades) that would be a P/E of 9.3 and that is on a fully taxed basis. With PBT (and consequently EPS thereafter) growing at 60-70% and significant cash in the bank, I can't see it staying as low as 27p.

Just a matter of patience as ever.

Well, Slapper, it depends on whether you think IBG are going to do 1.9p this year. Broker estimates have always been conservative here, but with the tax charge and considerable re-structuring of the business going on, perhaps people are unsure of what to expect.

But it seems to me that with AF seemingly doing well, and with Maz havng already said that the company is performing as per management expectations for the first 4 months of the f. year, your analysis is fair enough. General market weakness may take this lower yet, but hopefully there will be a trading statement at the time of the AGM, coinciding with the end of H1.

If 1.9p looks like it's going to be met or beaten for the year to October 31st, then a share price under 30p seems very miserly. :0)

these shares must have a floor in the abscense of very bad news... if it was rated as 10X for this year that would be about 19p... but with cash let us say 21p...

I find it hard to believe it can be rated at 10X so let us say 12X.... as a minimum forward ratio... then we have 23p but add cash and that is say about 25p.....

I think for this to be rated below 12X forward starts to become ridiculous in the absence of bad news.... so we should be near a floor here

who will buy or what the trigger will be I don't know.....

Any thoughts on that analysis (if it can be called that??)

It is better to have an a/c in her name but you can still transfer the shares into her name at zero gain.

If you transfer them at nil cost the whole value of the shares is classed as gain, not just the increase since you bought them.

You have bought them in your own name and through your own account therefore any profit goes against your CGT allowance. However you can transfer ownership into your wifes name and then you can offset any profits against her CGT allowance. The key factor is in whose name are the shares registered at the point of sale !

Wonder if anyone can offer some advice... I bought a bunch of IBG Shares for my other halve using her money, she transfered the money to my bank account, I transfered the money to my Selftrade account and made the purchase. Question is if they make a profit, is that profit going to go against my CGT allowance because I bought them through my own share account, or can it (rightly) go against hers?

Any advice appreciated.

I love this bit - great quote:

"This was a strange deal because it required a 90% approval to proceed. Most of us can't even reach a 90% consensus in a one-person vote, quite a paradox.!"

Tell me about it !
