Quite right.Apologies. I should have adjusted for the 39% rights discount. But still....

"These shares were at £20 not so long ago, albeit in different economic circumstances."

Hang on, that was before the refinancing_/rights issue.

Watch for director purchases and pile in. These shares were at £20 not so long ago, albeit in different economic circumstances.

That did not take long. Far too nervous to buy though.

It is available below 250p now, but I will wait a bit longer. The overall market is horrible and plenty of good shares will get cheaper. Set a new entry at 230p.

250p would be a good entry price.

This company invests in sub-prime debt. Prime debt in the form of government bonds is being downgraded left right and centre. Politicians in Europe are putting sticking plasters on wounds that need major surgery if not amputation (I refer to the PIIGS. Extreme right wing politicians in America fondly believe they are recreating the start of the American revolution when tax rebels threw tea into the harbour at Boston. They are actually recreating Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

People are worried governments will not pay their debts. In such a scenario companies may be unable to pay theirs because many companies sell to the government.

Had this one on my radar for a while, now close to where I had imagined entering however I am a little uneasy in that I cant see what has caused the large drop back in the last few weeks.
I know there was a 12p divi but that is only a small part of the drop.

Here and here.

They were though as a result of exercise of share options, and covering tax etc.

pvb - I also have quite a few and was interested to read about the CEO and CFO selling a while ago.

Would be very grateful if you could advise the date and extent of their sales.

I'm starting to be tempted, though I have quite a few already. On the other hand the two main directors, CEO and CFO, sold some a while ago. Before these levels!

I sold for not much short of 3.40 just last week, a bit of a move down since -
understatement perhaps.

Goldman Sachs opined that future profits would be volatile a few days ago and a fair amount of shorting is going on.

These things will pass. It is a sound company with a more than twice covered decent dividend.
