TAKE A LOOK AT THESE TWO ZERO EMISSIONS POWERS GENERATORS, 1kW ANS 5KW MOBILE SYSTEMS.

The Zero-Set product line mobilizes this reliable power source for rapid deployment in the hardest to reach areas. Hydrogen is widely available and can be produced almost anywhere, unlike petroleum based fuels, making it one of the most versatile green fuels available. The Zero-Set V at 5,000watts is the smallest in the product line followed by the Zero-Set X, a 10,000watt, portable generator. Luxfer-GTM will soon be introducing the economical Zero-Set 100 system that will provide users 100kW of environmentally responsible power on a mobile platform.

Luxfer-GTM Technologies is a manufacturer of composite cylinder based gas transports and systems, supplying equipment to the CNG, industrial gas, hydrogen, and O&G services industries.

"Cost of Li-ion battery in Raven: $1000
How much can a fuel cell system cost (including H2 tank)?
$5000? $10,000?
$2000 profit per fuel cell
100 UAVs = $200,000 profit?"

Totally agree - the deal already seemingly outstrips the GTL one, but of course here they are talking 'units' as opposed to the cabinets for GTL. So probably not like for like. We would need to unravel it all to see how it compares financially.

I bet IEH will be making more than 600 units ...... as the take-up of these towers increases, demand will outstrip supply .... 600 will barely supply the US for demo purposes .... hundreds of these are used during New Orleans' "Mardi Gras" alone .... I wonder if power has returned to Fukushima yet after the tsunami ... so many places still rebuilding after infrastructure has been wrecked by natural forces ... where will the units for demoing the towers in China, Japan, India etc. come from .... 600 is, I'm sure, just the start.

This is from 12 days ago .... no mention of IEH but the RNS tells us otherwise

and this "as well as high-pressure filling capabilities for the company’s growing line of hydrogen (H2) products" from

This is a huge market .... massive ..... light is needed in loads of off-grid places and is, of course, demanded by insurance companies. If someone falls and hurts themselves in the dark ... for example, getting off a cruise ship at an industrial wharf at night (my speciality) ... you'll get sued ... especially in the US ... but if people breathe in gas from diesel generators powering light towers, that's also ever less acceptable .... this looks very promising .... Luxfer GTM can add IEH HFCs to their RECHARGEABLE H2 cannisters to create an almost infinite number of solutions and products ... wait 'til the US leisure market gets hold of this .... boats, campers, huts, tents, festivals, fishing .... "the tilley lamp is dead" .-)

I might try and rummage around the GTL details and see if we can work out the potential financials based on that deal. Hopefully this would give us a lower baseline financial gain as the deal _should_ be better than that one.

Yes, a bit of a sweetener one would suspect.

No financial details - but surely if they walked away from GTL then it should be on better terms...?

LONDON (Alliance News) - Intelligent Energy Holdings PLC on Monday said it has signed a stationary power deal with US-based Luxfer-GTM Technologies as part of a growing strategic relationship in the development of a line of integrated fuel cell products.

Intelligent Energy shares were trading 8.3% higher at 8.27 pence per share on Monday following the announcement, having jumped to 9.50p at the open.

Intelligent Energy will integrate its low-power, 1 kilowatt fuel-cell modules into 600 of Luxfer-GTM's Zero-Set Lite portable, zero-emission light towers. Intelligent Energy also will mobilise its global network to assist sales of Luxfer-GTM's products internationally.

Intelligent Energy's fuel-cell modules are zero emission, with the only by-product being water vapour and offer near silent operation, making them an attractive replacement to traditional diesel generators.

"Integrated into Luxfer-GTM's Zero-Set generator line, Intelligent Energy's fuel cell modules will provide a commercially available, low cost, zero-emission of generators for wide scale applications," said the London-listed company.

No financial details of the deal were disclosed.

"We are delighted to be working with Luxfer-GTM. They are an innovative and forward looking company in deploying hydrogen solutions for energy requirements. They were very impressed with the increased power output Intelligent Energy's products can offer in such a lightweight and robust package, and with the opportunity to grow with us as our product range develops," said Chief Executive Martin Bloom.

It's a bit like London buses!!

Two bits of excellent news arrive at once, the stationary power one is the really interesting one for shareholders and hopefully why it's the RNS today as opposed to the drone news. The drone one can grab the headlines and interest and would take away the shine from what is a seemingly big deal - 600 units!

Brilliant, good post @Dean Windass

There's definitely been a little bit of upward pressure on the share price the past week or two, but nothing's really come of it. Hopefully this will trigger a bit more of an uptick.

No RNS but the HFC IEH MMC drone news is out .... IEH appear to get a name check here .... in association with MMC .... New drone set to be big draw a trade fair in Abu Dhabi this week (International Defense Exhibition and Conference).

About time but well done to IEH for pulling this off. Is the deal with MMC exclusive? Anyone got any data what this market is worth with early adopters paying top whack for the new tech? I wonder where the HFCs are being made? Japan (SMILE FC SYSTEM CORP)?, Singapore? Loughborough? Cocoa Beach / Port Canaveral?

Though these are made for the defence market, I bet there will be loads of people buying these trying to get an edge over competitors ..... cheaper than satellites and able to work under cloud ..... I am quite excited about this .....

Hydrogen drone set to be big draw at Idex
ABU DHABI, 21 hours, 0 minutes ago
Drone manufacturer MMC, a global leader in industrial and military drones and developer of the first hydrogen drone, has introduced the next generation of its hydrogen technology at the International Defense Exhibition and Conference (Idex 2017), which opened in Abu Dhabi today (Feb 19).

The HyDrone 1800, designed for the military, is expected to be a big draw at the show. MMC is showcasing the product together with CATIC at the exhibition.

The carbon-fiber HyDrone 1800 is an almost indestructible aircraft. Designed for use in the toughest conditions, the drone is wind-resistant, rain-resistant, cold-resistant and still incredibly lightweight. Most importantly, HyDrone 1800's hydrogen fuel cell technology provides a flight endurance of four hours or of a stunning 50+ hours when combined with MMC tethered technology, said the company.

The endurance of the hydrogen drone changes the scope of applications dramatically: most military or industrial drones currently on the market are limited by flight times of under 1 hour. HyDrone 1800 achieves the extended flight time while maintaining altitude limits of 4,500 m – competitive or better than other similar sized aircraft – and a payload capacity of up to 5kg, it said.

Hydrogen fuel cell technology is a breakthrough for drones. The technology is an environmentally friendly solution towards a drone industry bottleneck: flight endurance. Constructed for safety and durability, an auxiliary lithium battery starts the fuel cell and provides a backup source of power for the drone. The properties of hydrogen fuel not only allow for extraordinary flight time, but extend the ideal temperature range for operation. Hydrogen drones can be flown in extreme temperatures – from -10 deg Celsius to 40 deg Celsius, the company said.

"This technology is the next step forward for military grade drones," says MMC's founder Lu Zhi Hui. "It's safe, it's effective, it's proven – and the endurance is unmatched by other power sources. "

Payloads can be changed quickly and easily. Operators may choose from payloads including a thermal imaging camera, low light camera, laser equipment, or zoom camera; making the system ideal for many military applications. HyDrone 1800 can be used for intelligence gathering, border patrol, aerial fire support, laser designation, or battle management services to tactical military operators. MMC also offers packaged solutions in target acquisition and reconnaissance technology (ISTAR), it said. -

So, Toyota recalls Mirais days after announcing "green" tie-up with Suzuki who have HFC JV with IEH.

Maybe SMILE FC SYSTEMS CORP can do stuff with HFCs even Toyota can't.

Interesting!
