A national hydrogen gas grid is gradually being developed in the UK. I believe that Leeds and Cleveland will be the first to trial home heating systems and H2/power sponsored by the government.

I reckon the micro grids will be huge in japan. It's infrastructure is vulnerable to earthquakes and tsunamis so shipping Hydrogen in from Norway and Australia makes sense. All that is needed then is the hydrogen decanting into tankers which deliver the hydrogen to communities with micro grids. That's the impression I get. Russia keeps the seas north of Russia ice free and there are constant convoys of ships taking this route now avoiding the Suez Canal and detours via The Med ... and Somali pirates ... the latest I heard, since I'm a bit involved with the cruise industry is automated drones that take off when there's a MOB and search for signs of a body from the air sending GPS data to a SAR RIB .... it's being driven by insurance companies ..... but the drones are useless is they're on batteries ... of course .... no SAR operation is any use with 20 odd minutes of battery life in a drone. Apparently, it's here, now, being touted for sale but quietly as there are big, very lucrative races going on behind the scenes trying to be first to market. Cruise ships out at sea don't have to worry about ATC permissions etc.

Another source of likely news may come from Suzuki Scooters because the London police are starting trials soon imo. And Suzuki may become the source of some substantial orders for the business.

Intelligent Energy has provided the fuel cell stacks for the Suzuki Burgman scooters, stack technology designed and engineered here in the U.K. The Burgman was the world’s first fuel cell scooter to achieve the EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval.

”We are delighted to announce this latest milestone,” said Intelligent Energy’s Group CEO Martin Bloom. “The Met Police is one of the world's most innovative in reducing vehicle emissions from its fleet, setting a precedent for police forces globally. We are pleased this initiative involves one of our closest partner’s, Suzuki, with whom we have a 10 year relationship. The scooters will use our 4kW air cooled fuel cells, a compact lightweight package designed to meet automotive requirements, standards and safety criteria. This brings closer the commercialisation of hydrogen fuel cell scooters.

Dean --- here is a clue about what IEH is most interested with from their website just this week.

Expecting a lot more news about UAV's/ Drones in Japan/USA + mobile power systems and home micro grids.

Intelligent Energy will be showcasing its air cooled fuel cell stacks at the event, and Dr Lee Juby, Business Development Director at Intelligent Energy, will be speaking about the wide range of applications fuel cells can be used for.

Dr Juby said: “There is massive potential for fuel cells and here at Intelligent Energy we develop and manufacture modular air cooled fuel cell stacks and systems that can be used in a wide variety of applications from two and four wheeled motive, stationary and distributed power to lightweight stacks specially developed for the aerial drone markets.

yeah, the Price Monitoring seems weird .... I mean, you get shares trading in volumes infinitely bigger than IEH with no problem so I don't get it .....

on another note ... maybe we should have a sweep on where the next news is coming from .... another "major interest in shares"? Drone news? GenSets? Cars? Scooters? Mobile phone masts? Water purification? Embedded HFCs in consumer devices? Ann Summers leading the world in HFC powered vi ... ah forget it ....

Could someone please explain what these price monitoring extensions are ? About five months ago when I first bought and green as grass they were 17p as I phoned to buy the broker told me I couldn't by because they were in auction ring back in five when I rang back I had to buy at 22p and by the end of the day I think they dropped to twelve since then every time there there is a price monitoring extension or auction whatever they always drop after ? I have got over 100 thousand now average around 10p and am very optimistic these shares will come very good IMPO

Well done ibug ... nice one So, if yahoo are right, this is actually worth 14p odd?

Of course, everything is worth what you can get for it but with 206.4 million shares in circulation, dividing 1.32 billion QUID equals 206.4 makes this wirth £6.395 per share

I think Ballard sold a couple of HFC patents for 50 million dollars, other patents are worth less (as I said earlier, Snapchat paid 7 million for a patent ..... but if IEH have 1000 plus patents ..... 1.32 billion quid doesn't seem unrealistic ... not every patenet IEH own is worth anything in terms of selling it ... some patents may never be used or earn anything .... but a Ballard type deal would mean a sudden income worth double what the company is currently worth plus more .... if I'm wrong, let me know .... I really think this is crucial to trying to value IEH ...

MASS PRODUCTION

The fact is the company have been given a 3.2 million Euro project by the EU/ Toyota Motors to develop a mass production system for fuel cells capable of manufacturing 50,000 systems a year for each system deployed.

This equates to IEH becoming the OPEC of Europe and perhaps the world to mass produce and supply low cost fuel cells; creating a massive enterprise.

I have found a Yahoo analysis: ENTERPRISE VALUATION IS 1.32 BILLION GBP...SURELY THAT MUST BE IN A LARGE PART the value of their IP portfolio + the enterprise structures and market sector potential.

Valuation measures

Enterprise value 1.32B
Trailing P/E -0.18
Forward P/E 1 N/A
PEG ratio (5-yr expected) 1 N/A

Good point Filster ... I just think this is undervalued since suggesting their IP portfolio is only worth 12 million quid seems strange to me ... Looking at what just one patent can fetch and the fact IEH have well over 1,000 now ..... I just think this will increasingly be seen as undervalued and will rise as a result ... simply based on the IP ... income from drones, making HFCs, leading projects etc. is a bonus on top of that ...but they do seem to have financing woes ... yet, if they are doing work for the MOD, to what extent will the UK, the world's 3rd biggest arms manufacturer? ... isn't it? ..... to what extent will anyone in the UK want IEH to be a. Foreign owned or b. Bust?

I don't know the answers to these questions ... I just see IEH's star rising as the planet moves away from hydrocarbons ..... I'm not sure climate change is the issue now ... I think it's air quality ..... as in "I don't care about Polar Bears but my kid's got Asthma and I'll vote for whoever fixes the air my kid breathes" ....

Hi @Dean whilst you are correct - I would urge a slight caution. Of course they could just sit on IP, but at that point who is 'they'...? Is it IEH as we know it or has it been purchased and taken away from the Shareholders?

It looks as if those with shares they're prepared to sell below 7p have been flushed out. Someone obviously wants shares. they will have accumulated under 6 and 7 but still want more. This is the only explaination I can find since why would anyone choose to buy now at 7.5 rather than 6 ish a week ago?. If there are not many sellers at 7 or 8, this will have to go higher .... can anyone put a value on IEH's SP?

The great thing about IP is that you can stop all R&D, sack loads of people and just sit taking profits from the IP .... if you want to .... IEH obviously still see R&D work needs doing .... the HFC has obviously not been perfected .... it hasn't reached the Stratocaster stage yet!! ..... but adoption ... because of concerns about poor air quality and battery limitations seems to be increasing.

I wonder to what extent IEH are working with NASA and the US military .... we know IEH are involved to some extend in trials and tests but ... as far as space research is concerned ... if the universe is full of hydrogen but space is a vacuum, how do you square that circle? .... a vacuum shouldn't contain hydrogen ... so how can you harvest hydrogen in space to feed into fuel cells ..... unless ... you manage to run HFCs so efficiently that the "exhaust water" gets turned into hydrogen and fed back into the fuel cell ... producing .... infinite, free electricity .... I wonder what THAT would be worth? ... and how long the inventor or owner of the patent would be allowed to live for!!!! ..... the basis of capitalism would be dead wouldn't it? .... fascinating stuff

HFC's to Transform Our World

A very interesting article which mentions IEH

5 Clean Energy Innovations That Could Transform Our World

1. Fuel Cell: Truck manufacturers Kenworth, Toyota, and UPS have begun investing in fuel cell technologies, which would allow transport vehicles to run on hydrogen and oxygen, releasing only heat and water as emissions. Modern hydrogen production still requires copious fossil fuel use, but the process could soon be powered by renewable energies, making fuel cell vehicles extremely clean alternatives to current trucking solutions.

In Europe, fuel cell production facilities will begin pumping out 50,000 fuel cell stacks by the year 2020, making United Kingdom-based Intelligent Energy the market leader in bringing the green technology to the masses. “Hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles are available now, but to continue to drive customer adoption, we need to ensure future fuel cell stacks are robustly industrialised and remain cost competitive in the future,” said the company’s Manufacturing Head Richard Peart.

"The loan note can convert into shares at the
holder's discretion up to maturity at 8p per
ordinary share. Full conversion would represent
375m new ordinary shares, compared to the current
issued share capital of the Company of 206.2m
ordinary shares."

What this means is that they can keep dumping upto 375m shares on to small guys and gals whilst the cash burn rate is at full speed!

It's easy to see what you want to see but see what you rather not and your money will be in safe hands.

Interesting correlations here between ARM and IEH. Apart from the ex ARM people working at IEH, the connection to Apple is interesting ... Apple are cash rich and share patents with IEH .... but do they have a track record of buying companies? If the Apple car is ever going to be run on Hydrogen, buying IEH may be a good investments ... lots of money NOT spent on licensing IP from other people and some income from the IP as well .... any company like Apple that wanted to diversify might want IEH ... in case Apple ever runs out of "things" to make .... or finds it can't compete with newer, cheaper smartphone manufacturers .... BLU ... as a brand is very popular in many emerging markets .... most people don't want iphones ... they're expensive and get nicked .... we are almost in the age of disposable smartphones so I'm not sure where that market goes .... I have no evidence ... just thinking out loud .... I still smell "takeover" .... for no other reason than, at these prices .... it's a bargain ..... I presume the value of the IP at IPO was part of the 3 quid odd valuation when this floated .... that the share price has shrunk to these levels ... does that mean the projections for the value of the share price were THAT far out?
