PLENTY OF NEW ORDERS :))) ---- Rising Revenues --- REVENUES ARE CERTAINLY RISING AT IEH as production ramps up.

Recent news summary --- Here is a summary of rather exciting recent news coverage about the marketing plan as it continues to roll out.

A JV joint venture with a mobile phone manufacturer worth 5.25 million over two years from early 2016 -- that is revenue of 2.6 million/ year + manufacturing of the fuel cells----MAYBE IT'S RED SMART PHONES.

Intelligent Energy’s British fuel cell technology will be at the heart of a fleet of scooters to be used on London’s roads this summer as part of a hydrogen fuel cell technology fleet trial with the city’s Metropolitan Police.

-----------------------------------

Intelligent Energy has signed a stationary power deal with US-based Luxfer-GTM Technologies as part of a growing strategic relationship in the development of a line of integrated fuel cell products.

-----------------------------------

Intelligent Energy has signed a deal with PINC to supply its air cooled fuel cell systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), marking Intelligent Energy’s first sale of fuel cell systems for UAVs as the Company moves forward with the commercialisation of its technology.

-----------------------------------

The commercial product range, the FCM-800 series, comprises fuel cell modules suited to both stationary and portable applications, and are capable of delivering between one and four kilowatts.

It is an international launch and orders are now being taken, the company said.

-----------------------------------

A 3.5 MLILLION EURO EU-TOYOTA programme has launched to provide a blueprint to enable fully automated future mass manufacture of fuel cell stacks for the automotive market.

This all amounts to much more revenue...imo

Overall, IE continues to believe that it possesses the technology and capability and is able to produce product at the required price points to scale the business.

The company said: “IE also believes that it possesses industry leading technology with respect to power per unit weight and power per unit volume. Furthermore, the presence of in-house manufacturing capacity also means that IE can produce at volume, without incurring significant incremental capex costs, to scale through to free cashflow positive which is envisaged to take place over the next two years.

“Critically IE also believes that the requisite level of demand exists for its products.”

The company said shipments of the 1kW fuel cell modules has commenced under the Luxfer-GTM Technologies contract signed in February 2017.

Looking ahead, the company said: “The group continues to focus on progressing fuel cell product sales from the conversion of sales pipeline opportunities.

“The strengthening of the commercial team on a regional basis over the last year is having a positive impact and further positive developments continue to be expected.

As previously reported by the Mercury, Intelligent Energy’s fuel cell stacks will be used for a trial of Suzuki Burgman scooters with the Metropolitan Police in London this summer.

The company said it has continued to improve its fuel cell operating capabilities, which it continues to consider to be “industry leading” with respect to power output per unit volume and power output per unit weight.

In recent weeks Intelligent Energy said it had refreshed and expanded the standardised product available for sale.

This includes the “economically competitive” Fuel Cell Module (FCM) 800 range, for 1kW to 4kW power output across three standard products, its lightweight fuel cell stack and system products for drones in the 650W to 2kW power output range which more than double conventional drone flight times.

It also reported an increase in cash in the bank from £9.7 million to £13 million for the period, in line with forecasts.

The change in the company’s fortunes was noted by investors, with the company’s shares rising 4 per cent to 7.75p – although this is still a long way from the 12-month high of about 18p.

The company, led by chief executive Martin Bloom, said it managed to reduce losses as a direct result of the restructuring it implemented in May 2016.

Nice technology, but the company will likely run out of cash again in my view. The UK isn't like the US and investors don't like funding loss-making cash burning machines like this.

Researchers produce robust graphene-based catalyst to split water into hydrogen and oxygen

Scientists at Rice University and the University of Houston have developed a catalyst that can simplify the splitting of water into hydrogen and oxygen to produce clean energy. The electrolytic film is a three-layer structure of nickel, graphene and a compound of iron, manganese and phosphorus. The foamy nickel gives the film a large surface, the conductive graphene protects the nickel from degrading and the metal phosphide carries out the reaction.

THIS TECH MAY LEAD TO MORE IMPROVEMENTS TO FUEL CELL ANODES to give even more energy extraction from H2 imo

BUSINESS OUTLOOK ---- AND HERE IS ANOTHER QUOTE from the last RNS --- implies sufficient business to become cash flow position has a good chance of being achieved.

The preferred option at this point in time is not to seek further funding but to deliver a trading related solution. Good discussions with potential customers have been held, which, while not secured, are positive and which if secured offer the prospect of sufficient funding for the medium term.

OUTLOOK RECAP ---- The last RNS implied they were negotiating deals so news could drop in at any time. The stationary power market is developing fast across many countries and most especially in the states and Japan where IEH have sales outlets. It would be very surprising if the company doesn't pick up a lot of business from the UAV/ drone market and possibly the phone market given they are earning 2.5 million/ year from a research project.

Plus there are many other avenues from where business may develop especially from their extensive IP portfolio.

Looking ahead, the company said: “The group continues to focus on progressing fuel cell product sales from the conversion of sales pipeline opportunities.

“The strengthening of the commercial team on a regional basis over the last year is having a positive impact and further positive developments continue to be expected.

“The exact scale, timing and margin profile of opportunities that are converted to signed contracts is, however by its nature, uncertain.”
