grannyboy - This was why they reverted to more efficient and more sophisticated ventilators from IHC. Without ventilators, the number of dead will rocket. See what's happening in the US and what will happen in India and Africa in the next few weeks. I wish them well in any case.

I agree..if you go to hospital stay off the ventilator. Assisted oxygen is what you need. Like what Boris got.

Going by the numbers of patients that have died after been put on ventilstors/respirators shows they don't work.

Yes, I agree it would have been good to get some clear feedback on the status of the ventilator orders IHC received and placed with international ventilator manufacturers, as it remains unclear if these orders will be / are being fulfilled.

But I am happy with IHC's contribution to the domestic UK ventilator efforts:

The UK government's desperate plea for ventilators was initially badly organised, triggering a stampede of non-medical(!) companies working 24/7 to re-invent the wheel. (This "how hard can it be to design a ventilator?" logic smacks of Dominic Cummings-like intellectual arrogance).

Against this backdrop IHC has contributed its highly relevant expertise and common sense by helping one of the consortia support proven UK ventilator manufacturer(s) to ramp up (Penlon, perhaps also Smiths).

Now IHC's role, expertise and hospital relationships seem to eventually be recognised and appreciated (even!) by the UK government (in this confusing myriad of clueless companies bumbling around) - see the final sentence this extract from today's RNS below:

"In addition, we have been providing market and sector expertise to the 'Ventilator Challenge UK' consortium one of the many consortia that took up the Prime Minister's challenge of trying to scale the UK supply of ventilators. We were also contracted through Cabinet Office to extend our own 24/7 helpline to include any 'UK Ventilator Challenge' ventilators."

This vote of confidence speaks to the credibility of this small company and might stand them in good stead wrt broadening and deepening its business with the NHS in the future.

Lammylover - I think they will report orders separately during the coming weeks. They just don't want to blow too much their trumpet but happy to wait and be invested in a profitable company helping to save lives under all conditions - with and without the pandemic.

Agree Fuji - it amazes me how a small profitable medical supply company like IHC can be so far under the radar! Especially when companies that are not even trading during the CV pandemic see share prices rising, purely based on hope. The only criticism of this RNS is that there is little mention of current Q1 / trading situation, and in particular no repeat mention of the £5m one off orders of ventillators etc from the NHS. Probably this business is just too honest to write a really positive, upbeat RNS and perhaps doesn't want to be seen to be profiteering in the current situation. I get this, but hope next trade update starts with "the BOD is pleased to announce...". Rich

It is just a matter of time before it comes under the radar of analysts and institutions.
Not only they are cheap and have cash, they make a profit thus self-sufficient and this is under the harshest conditions in the history of the stock market.

RNS needed more info on outlook / update - IHC received £5m one off orders in first quarter which were hardly mentioned, hence drop in share price this morning.
Needs some good media coverage in Shares / Investors Chronicle to get more bargain hunting buyers. Rich

Yesterday Kromek announced that it was planning to make 2,000 medical ventilators in the UK under licence from one of Inspiration Healthcare's competitors (i.e. MetranCo of Japan)

40k shares bought just before / at market close for 64p. Not sure where these shares are coming from as hardly any sells less than 64p yesterday?
I bet there will be some delayed sells <64p declared today by the MMs that they forgot to put through yesterday....LOL

Awaiting results update on Monday? Its about time that some positive news pushed the share price >80p.

Millions of respirators are and will be needed. In some parts of the world (India, Africa), the virus hasn't stated yet in large numbers. Without enough beds equipped with respirators, many patients arriving and cramming in emergency departments to go to intensive care would die very quickly.
So respirators are the emergency vital parts for saving lives. It takes a few minutes for an old person to die if he/she cannot breath properly. IHC is well placed to play a forefront role for saving lives. The stock will start to be noticed in a grand way soon.
